Okay well he turned down a 6 year $5.5M deal and reportedly stuck to his $7M per offer until being traded to Calgary and signing for $250K more than Boston offered. I highly doubt the B's give him up over $250k

Yeah, that is what I was thinking too.

He is the more hyped player, but you are right that Snow likely wants to spend Hamonic money on his replacement.

Yeah, agents know how to manipulate the media to get their clients maximum dollars. Leaking the high number can't hurt.

I highly doubt the B's trade him to Calgary for less than they were offered by the Oilers… Whoops.
I highly doubt the B's, having corralled three consecutive first-round picks, pick one player that leaves the rest of the league going, ‘Why?’ and another that leaves them going, ‘Who?’ Whoops again.
The fact that X is a stupid thing to do is absolutely no proof that the Bruins' management did not do X last summer.

It is pretty obvious why they didn't take the slightly better picks from Edmonton. I don't think they were pumped on giving the GM they just fired the exact player he needed to build his new team.
I believe Dougie wanted out of Boston and forced a trade by demanding a high price. Some people don't believe that which is fine. Personally I think Trouba could be doing the same thing with the Jets

i think this conundrum is better for their management to deal with than if the team were ripping it up this year. They will have more flexibility, at least from an optics perspective, to go out and turn these into solid asset returns at the deadline.
If they're on the outside looking in by the deadline, these are easily 3 more 1st round picks plus whatever else. The jets have tons of prospects too, i think they have some exciting options ahead of them, that will be easier to navigate thru if they're out of it.

Knowing that those 3 guys are asking for so much actually helps the team now. They can decide who they want to keep (likely Laad) and trade whoever else. Teams will be ligning up to get big buff and the jets can start a bidding war. If Trouba is asking that much, I doubt the islanders want him but if they do it'll be hamonic + for Trouba.

I would keep Buff, trade Ladd. There's 1 Byfuglien in the league. Ladds are not as hard to find.
The Trouba thing is just negotiation posturing.

Yeah, Ladd would be the bottom of the rankings on those three for sure.

Khudobin to ARZ, leaving the Flames sitting with the duds forever. This is how this will go.
It'd be a miracle if Treliving could swing Hiller to ARZ then to flip whatever to ANA for Khudobin or something.
Still, I wonder if you could get more for Ramo and maybe get enough assets to upgrade to a Fredrik Anderssen.

You're right, Ramo's worth 0, Hiller's worth less than 0!

1.)If Arizona wanted Khubodin they would have put in a claim as they obviously knew before the waiver deadline that Smith would be out long term.
2.) In no way is Khubodin an upgrade over Ramo and arguable if he is even an upgrade on Hiller.
3.) In no way is Andersen and upgrade over Kari Ramo. They are about the same ability, I actually think Ramo might be slightly better. The point is if you want to upgrade at goaltending why make a lateral move? Andersen is not taking any team anywhere. I would rather take a chance on Bernier, at least he has the toolbox to become a true #1 goalie.
