If you go back the last 6 season from 2016/17 on he’s worth $6 mil easily
Back to back 32 goal seasons the first 2 seasons
Worst season was a shortened season pace was 47 points
Most years 50 point guy at least
87 points last season
40 points in 45 playoff games
1 season stands out but but most years he’s a high 50 point player with 30ish goals. The 87 point season he had 29 points on the pp which is up from 9 the year before. Maybe increased opportunity was part of his big season?

I'm not sure everyone realizes haw hard most players fall after 32. Kadri might be one of the few exceptions, but the odds are not in his favour

I still hope we pass on Kadri. Save those dollars for something better in the next free agent crop.

Thats....that's...beautiful.

At a quick glance it appears to be pretty much the entire league: https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/free-age...trending-pages

But then we miss out on one year of our big 2-3 years window to win now.
Have to admit, having our center depth as Lindholm/Kadri/Backlund and Monahan/Ruzika looks top to me.

No to Kadri. You'll regret it.

In some ways Kadri has a bit of a James Neal feel in the sense on paper right now it really makes sense to add another top 6 to the lineup. If it is going to be 5-7 years I would rather they hold off and see if Monahan can bounce back or Ruzicka takes a step.
I will be excited if they Kadri on anything 4 years or less under $8M AAV.

Before this season Kadri/Strome/Trocheck were all right in the same range, with the latter 2 having better recent stats (both a touch below ppg previous season).
Strome and Trocheck just turned 29 (exact same birthday in fact)
Kadri will turn 32 in October. So nearly 3 years different.
IMO FMV is probably around:
7x4.75M
6x5M
5x5.25M

Most of these guys will extend early. I could see more chance that some of these will be available:\
Pastrnak
ROR and/or Tarasenko
JT Miller and/or Horvat
P Kane
Toews
Interesting that a few teams have 2 key guys pending. I think Miller would be crazy to not go for an extension ASAP, though he's pretty much in Hube's situation without any trade control at all. I think both guys might have as much trade value to some teams as a pure rental vs. other teams who'd be more focused on extending them.

They thought he could be a main piece in the Tkachuk trade so I doubt they are just giving him away.

My guess is Kadri still wants to end his career with the Leafs and in Toronto, and is trying to figure out that as part of things here and now, while of course maximizing personal wealth at the same time. Stanley Cup is done so it's time for money.
2 to 3 years in Calgary (or anywhere) is probably fine but would then want 2 more in Toronto while still effective at age of 34 or 35.
If trying to do it in one contract. 5 year $6.0-6.5M, more front end weighed, NMC for entire terms of deal, but a handshake deal for Leafs being the only team NMC exempt at any time.
Or does he take a 3 year deal now worth 7-7.5 with more money up front, hope he is still healthy and productive after those 3y and have the Leafs acquire him for nothing and pay him less, in 3y as a UFA.
Either way, still don't want him. He didn't want to come here before no matter what innocence he pleads (same innocence he pled on his suspension hearings for hits to the head), and most importantly, I don't think he's going to reach the stats to be value for he's paid, nor still bring all the intangibles he has (better or worse) to make him the player is, now after getting paid and winning a cup.
His value and profile is and has been pumped by being the best of the rest remaining and an eastern media that wishes he could still be in Toronto too, we've seen how that has blown up numerous times before (Karlsson).

Leafs got rid of Kadri for playing too hard in the playoffs...I doubt he wants to go back there

I too would pay Kadri 3 x 7.
Good chance he's full value for 2 of those seasons, maybe 3.
If the 7AAV is what gets him here for shorter term, so be it.
