Personally, you should (almost) never hope a restaurant fails. Especially in this instance when you've not eaten there.
I loved DOPO the one time I ate there. Hard to judge it if you have not tried it.
And the owner, Tony, is a great host.

Apple maps has the courtesy to say "I don't know". Google Maps will confidently send you to your peril.
Example 1 of 10, Google Maps happily sent us into a dry river bed that it deemed a "road" in a FWD compact Suzuki. Turn around you say? Not possible, because an earlier descent was so steep we skidded down and would never make it back up. I felt like Jeremy Clarkson trying to keep my speed up in sand that was way too deep for that car:

I preferred the DOP menu at their original location (RIP giant veal milanese) but it's still delicious. People still have money to treat themselves, yes even in this economy. They ain't failing anytime soon.

Sort of - I didn't get any of the really hairy part because I was too busy wondering about what happens if I bury the car in sand with no cell service and not a soul around besides the one dude that went by on an ox cart.
Here's the part where it was so steep we skidded down (the picture doesn't do it justice). We were supposed to go straight through, but it was a dead end up the other side.
We had to make a sharp left at the bottom of the little gulley, onto the dry river bed:
This is looking back at the dry river bed, but the last section actually was a bit of a road and had packed tire tracks. What we were on for most of it was more like what you see off to the right in this photo, just pure loose sand. There was one curve before we hit the "good" part shown in this picture where the sand got really deep and we lost a ton of speed quite quickly skidding around the curve. I was a shaky sweaty mess when we made it to the "tire tracks" and admit an audible cheer went up. Kind of like watching Flames overtime playoff hockey.

Any map can be a treasure map if you put an X on it somewhere. "Here be Dragons" helps too.

Oh, they are. I've only had them once and it was back in 2018 in Old Town Montreal.

Well if I just hoped that doesn't make it likely to happen? I figured that's how it works? No? I don't just hope and something happens. Thanks for the cool insider info.
I was clearly just being a bitter goof (joking) cause I can't get a reservation. That wasn't obvious? Then the usual spectrum crowd comes out "WELL ACCCATUALLY you shouldn't hope for a failure and in fact it will not fail because demographic indicators in Marda Loop say people can still afford to eat out".
True. jeezus.

D.O.P and DOPO are/were both great.
It's also new and in Marda Loop (which only recently started to get good restaurants. It will level out.
Bar Gigi is like that too. Impossible to get a reservation as its still new and word of mouth is hitting everyone at once.
Bar Rocca seems less busy/easier to get a reso. Go there. same owner. Also try Pizzaface which is top 5 best pizza in town.

Seems like the co-op part was already dead, but maybe it was just dormant or something

How about maps inside celebrities' houses? Capture the cat burglar market.

Shhhhhhhh...
But seriously, Bar Rocca is one of my favourite places to grab a glass of wine and a snack in the whole city. Even better now that they've expanded their menu.
And speaking of Marda Loop, Pure Street Food has opened a new outpost in Diner Deluxe that opens after DD is done serving breakfast and lunch.

I didn't realize it had come back.
Man I just got hit with a wave of nostalgia... I have fond memories of the Back Alley as a concert venue in the mid 90s.
