Monthly NPD numbers out again and the winner is . . . the 3DS "family". Or the PS4 if you just count individual models.
400K - 3DS (N3DS XL, 3DS XL, 2DS, 3DS)
350K - PS4
275K - XBone
90K - Wii U
Heaven knows I bought more of New 3DS this month than Xbones or PS4's personally.

Yep, I have about 10 games for my PS4 and 2 for my Xbox One. And I can't think of any upcoming exclusives other than maybe Quantum Break that I'm interested in.

Ehh, motion control is fine in certain situations. But it really is only fits a niche, like custom steering wheels for racing games do or light guns for shooting games.

The Kinect is a cool little accessory and has some fun games for it but it's not the do all end all. It is pretty cool when playing madden though to yell "timeout" and call a timeout.

kids love the Kinect but I don't see how it can be responsive enough for fps or similar games.
I love the Kinect for voice commands and stuff like that but like many devices it is an intermediary to some better technology in the future.

you dont need a giant brick on your coffee table for voice commands...small microphone in the controller or console itself would be fine

Giant brick? Coffee table?
I like the speaker in the ps4 controller but it's gimmicky a lot more than the Kinect.

Amazing reviews for Bloodborne, 93% on Metacritic. Anyone play this yet? I'm thinking of picking this up pretty soon if my backlog dies down a bit.
Didn't check for a few months, but PS4 is selling nuts compared to the competitors. Didn't expect gap to be so big.

everyone's setup is different and if your setup was like that with limited functionality for you, I understand your parting out the device. your microphone idea is intriguing however practical considerations like ambient sound could play a part in that.
there is no killer app yet for Kinect for me personally, although I miss the voice commands on other TVs. if I were to buy another xboxone for any reason, knowing what I know now, I would buy it with Kinect because the kids love it.

If you like Dark Souls games you will like Bloodborne. I really like it although I was hoping for something a little more than Dark Souls in a different setting. Still it's just as difficult and fun as a Dark Souls game and even has PS3 graphics to boot as it doesn't look next gen at all and has framerate issues. That said graphics has never been a series strong suit and the major disappointment is arguably the worst load times I've seen in a game in years. The worst part about dying it the 40 second load time. Yes seriously it's that long between deaths and load points.

Kids love it? what games are these kids playing on it? seems like they have abandoned the thing as far as games go other than the dance party stuff

I think he is exaggerating a bit, graphics are not at the level of second son or nba 2k but they are better than PS3 graphics and the game is awesome

The frame rate and load times? Have you played the game or not? Yes it looks a bit better than PS3 but it's not markedly better as IMO it's a marginally tweaked Dark Souls running at 1080p. The game is great for sure although the technical issues are worse than in any Dark/Demon Souls game that can't be denied.
