Very rare that Pillar misplays not one but two balls, both for triples.

Back when they were playing poorly in May, I said I was hoping for them to be 5 or 6 games over .500 by the AS break to give themselves a chance in the second half.
11 games over heading into the second half and only 2 games out of 1st, and in a playoff spot is better than I was expecting.
Standings
AL
Texas --
Cleveland 1 GB
Baltimore 1.5 GB
Boston 3.5 GB
Toronto 3.5 GB
Overall
San Francisco --
Washingon, Texas, Chicago Cubs - 2.5 GB
Cleveland 3.5 GB
Baltimore 4 GB
Boston 6 GB
Toronto 6 GB

The schedule for the rest of July
Oakland X 3 - (38-50)
Arizona X2 - (38-51)
Seattle X3 - (45-44)
San Diego X3 - (38-50)
Baltimore X3 - (51-36)
Hopefully the Jays can go 6-2 against the weak teams and 4-2 vs the good ones.

Angels piss me off... they're gifted by the baseball gods with a guy who has a decent chance to eventually be the G.O.A.T. (no small accomplishment given the sheer age of baseball as a sport) and they're just pissing it away.

That Edwin interview at the All Star game was so awkward. Why in the world would a reporter think it would be a good idea to ask Edwin if he wanted to play in Boston next year? Zero chance he says anything but the canned answer (regardless of his true feelings) and it just made the interview cringe worthy. That's not being a "hard nosed" journalist, that's just being dumb.

Because prior to his interview David Ortiz said he could see Edwin going to Boston to replace him since they are both power hitting DH. Not sure if it's considered tampering since it's players but was funny none the less.

That is tampering. I'm sure player contracts say you cannot openly recruit other contracted players to your team.
Ortiz did with Jose Fernandez right after that.
League needs to come down hard on the Red Sox otherwise it's open-season. Get your players to start recruiting players.
