Connor McDavid has 49 even strength points* this season. He's a +3 so he's been scored against 46 times this season at regular strength.
The Edmonton Oilers have been scored against at even strength 106 times* this season, so McJesus has been on the ice for almost half the even strength goals scored against the entire team.
*Even strength goals is just from googling variety of stat sites and I didn't check if they were 100% accurate cause I don't actually care beyond the fact that E=NG. Also doesn't account for SHG but close enough, Connor McDavid sucks at defense.
it just means he's treading water when not on the PP
for a generational game breaker on that kind of scoring run, it's pretty funny that the goals against with him on the ice have increased proportionally with the increased production
he tries harder and scores more, yet still can't manage to create any meaningful gap between producer and liability
and half of his points are from running up scores against bad teams phoning it in
he's essentially learned/evolved nothing about his game, he's just doing it with increased intensity/volume
meanwhile only the <50 IQ faphards on Twitter will be doing backflips about it
if McDavid was even in Crosby's league at the 200 foot game he would have Gaudreau's 21/22 plus-minus right now easily

This is bang on, and why he’s at a higher likelihood of injury this season.
The concept of load management doesn’t apply. Either they run up the score or get filled in because of their garbage defensive acumen.
Any ice time Connor loses is a win for a glorified AHLer.
