Where? Context matters here. Blairmore? Armpit of civilization. Christina Lake? Prom Queen. Where in the Crowsnest are you speaking of?
Gear grinder? Not providing context to qualify conditions of statements.

Legitimate gear grinder but in this case since we’ve been discussing Alberta it’s Crowsnest Pass, it Crowsnest highway.

Nordegg is 2 hours from Red Deer and 3 hours from Calgary/Edmonton. Hinton is 3 hours from Edmonton. Grande Cache is 4 hours from Edmonton. Crowsnest is a good 2 hours from Calgary. Meanwhile Canmore is an hour from Calgary. It's commuting distance for some. If those other places were close enough to make sense, explain why they haven't been developed.

They need to finish HWY 43 north of Elkford. Elkford is a beautiful little town.

I love Crowsnest. I spent a lot of my childhood there visiting my Grandma so I’m biased, but taking hikes down by the river, or walking through the rocks by Frank, or climbing Turtle mountain are all as fun as anything I’ve done in a national park.

For Crowsnest, as well as anywhere in deep southern Alberta, the wind is the worst detractor. It is awful when it blows. I'd take snow, rain, locusts anything before wind. It ruins your outdoor time.
Apart from that, there's not much for lakes but lots of outdoor activity. Mountain bikers are finding it. Always been atvs. Have heard it's still a bit of a rough town in some respects (drugs, some unsavory people).
It's been trying to develop into a recreational haven for 30 or more years with little success. They do have 2 breweries now for a plus.
And crowsnest golf course might be the best destination course in Southern Alberta.

Canmore was a crappy mining town before it became a mountain getaway so something like Blair more should be considered.
How much room does Exshaw have to expand?

Virtually none unless you’re going to knock down a mountain or fill in a river.

Lack of things to do. Fernie, Kimberly, Fairmont, Invermere are all developing so a 2-3 hr commute is not the reason for a lack of development.
If the argument is everyone needs to be within 1hr or it doesn’t work then their isn’t really available room unless you are developing just outside the mountains near the Casino.

wish it was connected to alberta/hwy 40
they've done well to keep it most accessible to people on the bc side and locals .. keeps the area quiet

Nah, not really. Drive thrus are by far a mostly North American thing. They do exist elsewhere (and growing in the UK from what I've read) but nowhere near as ubiquitous as here.

I don't drink coffee or tea or any other stupid drink that people wait in line for (including alcohol). I don't understand any of this. I never have and I never will.

Well the fact the City needed to put signs on MacLeod Trail saying it’s illegal to queue on the road for the drive-thru blows my mind, like are you kidding me? If I see something is lined up to the point it’s spilling onto the road, screw it, I’ll go elsewhere. Why are these f—kwits lining up on the road for the drive-thru? They’re not selling concert tickets are they?

People, especially people who should know better (politicians, stock market analysts etc.) who use the phrase it is 3 times less or 8 times less. It can be 1/3 or 1/8th the size or price but it cannot be 8 times less.

Alcohol or tea? Where do you live that people wait in line for those things? I sit at a table and somebody brings those things.

You can be selling the craziest, best, most delicious item of all time. If there's a line longer than 5 minutes, I'm not going
