All 3 of the centers we will have a chance to draft have slightly better offensive upside than Monahan. Ideally it would be a similar situation as Boston who have Krejci and Bergeron as their 1 & 2.
Edit: ^ hah beat me to it

Hard to tell this early... depends on if Money continues to raise his game to put him in #1 center territory, or if whichever Sam we got would surpass him offensively at the NHL level.
While I hope Monahan pans out as a top center, I'd feel even better if he could be our second center and dominate there, while a 70+ point center steps in on the top line (I don't quite see Monahan reaching that kind of ceiling).

I see Money blossoming into a 30+30 second line center. If we nab someone with a higher ceiling to play center... booo yah. :P

I agree, I feel Monny will turn out to be a 70-80 point guy in his best point production year, and will always have 45-60 point seasons.

70-80? That would put him in the top 20 category, can't see that happening.

Agreed. I'm guessing it would end up Draisaitl around 75%, Ritchie 15%, Dal Colle 10% based on the comments I've seen in this thread. There seem to be a few people really high on Ritchie and not a ton of love for Dal Colle.

I think the Canucks end up drafting Ritchie.

Not even one year of such numbers? Langkow, Conroy, and Jokinen all hit the 70+ numbers at least once each for comparison.

70-80 points would be his ceiling. Keep in mind, he put up 34 points with non-super stars on his team.

Money may have a couple 65 ish point seasons at his peak, but that's as high as I see him going. I see a few 30 goal seasons as well. Consistently 25+.
See Patrice Bergeron. 30g 32a this season in his prime. That's right where I see Monahan in a few seasons.
If he surpasses that, though, then awesome.

Monahan scored 22 goals in his rookie season, It's silly to cap players out at a certain level.
He could be a 40 goal scorer for all we know. He's 19 years old.

Adding Dal Colle would pretty much be a younger, better Glencross in my opinion.

True. Improving by just 8 goals over the next 8-10 seasons does sound a bit silly (though he has to bring his assists up quite a bit yet).
But I see him possibly having a sophomore slump in the scoring department, then building his way back up to a perennial 25-35 goal scorer.
But very possible he could peak at 40 goals.

Why would we draft Richie? He's one of the oldest in the draft. Big skilled and inconsistent. The very same problems plague draisatl yet he's just a better player.

McGrattan isn't nearly a good enough skater to keep up with those 2.

I know there was a thread about this before, but I can't find it now. But these are how the Flames picks are looking to be barring any compensatory picks the league still has to award
Calgary Flames 1st round #4 overall
Calgary Flames 2nd round #34 overall
Colorado Avalanche 2nd round #54 to #60 overall pending playoffs
Calgary Flames 3rd round #64 overall
Pittsburgh Penguins 3rd round #81 to #85 overall or #87 to #90 overall pending playoffs

^ Always good to have a reminder, (I constantly forget)... 5 picks in 90 spots? I think we can all live with that!

Okay, so I'll cheer against the Avalanche and the Penguins.
