It’s astounding to me that the Colts would put the weight of the biggest play of the season on the shoulders of a guy who has six receptions all season.

And yet it was a great call, he was wide open and as Weitz said he may have scored if he gets hit in stride. Just brutal execution.

I love the call if it was third down but they’ve got the stud of all stud running backs and I think you have to ride with him.

Agreed you need to throw if anything on third down, because if you don't get it then it will very likely be due to an incompletion to stop the clock. They mismanaged the clock kinda bad at the end, Taylor went out of bounds twice and that timeout after not drawing them off was brutal. Just trying that drawing them off in that spot at all is awful, I hate that it ever works because then we have situations like this where they wasted the most valuable asset they had left for a 1% chance the Texans #### up and jump.

You have to give credit to the Texans off season. Drafting both Stroud and Will Anderson are looking like HRs.

Tank Dell came out of this draft as well, and he was a huge part of the offence up until his injury.

Yeah I think the Texans deserve credit for their offseason. They could well end up with the OROY in Stroud, DROY in Anderson Jr. and Coach of the year in Ryans. Moving up to draft Anderson seemed like an overpay at the time but he has been superb.

Definitely hope they get some of their receivers back next week. Collins was incredible but no one else was much of a threat.

Football can be gut wrenching to watch when you realize your team may never get the ball back. There is no game where the clock plays such a pivotal role and at the time, it was hard to know whether or not to hope for stoppages.

On the dropped pass, he had one blocker and there were two Texans in the vicinity. Entirely possible that a throw in stride and he is able to break a tackle and score. But then Texans have a healthy amount of time and 3 TO's to go down for a FG.

If Lovie Smith didn’t say #### it and won his last game as the Texans HC. Would the Texans have drafted Stroud and/or Anderson?

The whole sequence of events of that win are crazy to think about. If the Texans lose that game the Bears don't get the #1 pick and maybe it's Houston who trades with Carolina to still take Young, and the Texans, instead of having a QB, have the #1 pick this year. Or maybe Houston takes Young and Carolina trades up with the Bears at #2 for Stroud and now the Bears trade with Carolina is for the #20 pick this year instead of the #1 pick it ended up as. Or Carolina doesn't trade and maybe the Colts take Stroud instead of Richardson. One of the funniest tanking games ever might end up being one of the most important in recent NFL history for all that it changed.

Nah it was a good call. All eyes would be on Taylor in that scenario. Goodson just dropped it. It happens

My impression is that the Texans were prepared to take either Stroud or Young, whoever was available. But it was Anderson who they really coveted.

Rumor has it that ownership insisted they land a franchise QB. So my guess is that Young would have been the pick if they had #1 and they still try to make the Anderson trade. I doubt they trade down.

The Texans situation might have been a little better for Young. But Stroud definitely looks better than many thought, pretty amazing rookie season.

Seems like the Carolina coaching staff wanted Stroud. The Raiders wanted Stroud as well.

Young was a terrible pick and trading away another 1st which is now going to be a potential franchise QB or WR makes it one of the worst trades in history.

Did not have the Saints getting gashed by Desmond Ritter on the old bingo card.

Ha. All the folks who picked Bijan Robinson early for their fantasy teams have been waiting for a game like this all season. And it happens after most leagues have wrapped lol.

NFC South feels like a situation where the winner of the division is the biggest loser. Whoever gets in loses to Philly by three touchdowns, and as additional punishment they likely have keep their poor coach. Losers get to fire theirs.
