I still don't really care about this story because I think it's part and parcel for American politics, but it's somewhat relevant because of how furiously the Dems and some of their media lackeys were trying to dismiss it as fake news.
Yeah, to me it was such a non-story. Some politicians kid trying to use his influence to his own advantage (not a non-story, but certainly not something that requires more than one day of press coverage).
I never thought the emails didn't exist. It just seemed like a "so what?"
a pretty decent description of the whole situation. i would be interested to see what outlets themselves called the emails fake news
So now the goal posts have shifted to "sure hes a complete degenerate who's actively collecting corruption money from America's enemies, but it has nothing to do with his dad, dont be silly". Its like drinking koolaid straight out of a fire hose.
This confirmation hearing for Judge Jackson is so annoying to watch. Senators using the platform to push their talking points to their team. Kudos to Jackson for being composed because I would have rolled my eyes at some of the questions out of my frigging head by hour 2.
This is misinformation the way it is framed. The logs are complete. There’s a gap but apparently this would be common because trump didn’t use the switchboard for all his calls. In fact the switchboard is quite antiquated and doesn’t track calls from cell phones and other advisors in the white house.

So, this case has been around for a while, but the US has been pushing for the release of Brittney Griner, WBNA star, who is being detained for trying to enter Russia with multiple cannisters of cannabis oil, which is illegal there.
Am I missing something here? Why should she be released when she tried to bring illegal drugs into another country? If I'm traveling to Thailand, I know better than to try and sneak in any drugs that are illegal there (see: ALL drugs) and frankly, if I'm ignorant enough to not check before going or gutsy enough to know and try anyway, I'm not sure I'd get any sort of campaign for my release...
But I must be missing something?

Well, she's not a pleb for starters. That kind of stuff needs things like celebrity/money/networking/huffin and puffin social media snowflakes and maybe more. They play by different rules from us normies

We do this for Canadians too though. Even if you ignore the Michaels and the rest of China's imprisoned Canadians, what about Pastor Lim?
