Just listened to Treliving on 960. It sounded to me like moving Lindholm to centre is definitely something they are considering.

@Fan960Steinberg

#Flames GM Brad Treliving tells us his offseason plan was to give team flexibility to move Elias Lindholm to centre if they decide to go that route.

Says additions like Leivo and Simon gives team more depth on the right, which would allow a Lindholm move to C more seamlessly.

This better not mean Bennett back to wing or centering the 4th line...

Haven't listened to the interview yet, but hasn't Steinberg been the one really pushing the idea of Lindholm at C lately? Hope Treliving was just giving him a fluff answer.

I still have this feeling that Sean Monahan is going to get traded at some point before the start of the season.

I don't know. Treliving specifically said he and Ward have been discussing it a lot.

But yes, there is no doubt that Steinberg is biased. As a matter of fact, I am too. I like the idea as well.

I thought the same when Treliving mentioned Lindholm to center.

That would be a mistake. Flames need more center depth not less. For me to be comfortable trading Mony, Bennett would have to show he is a true top 6 center and not just the playoffs.

I keep thinking someone moves but have a feeling it will be Bennett. Hope not but rumors were he was traded for Hall and wouldn't be shocked if Sam wants to move on to a team where he gets more of anopportunity to play a bigger role.

Yeah, I agree. Maybe he's softening us up to get us ready for it, or maybe gauge the opinion of the fanbase by keeping tabs on CP.

Maybe that's why sureLoss posts news and rumors before anyone else-he's been planted by Flames management lol......

If the Flames believe Lindholm is a play driving centre, then it shifts the structure of the team.

1 - Lindholm
2 - Backlund
3 - Bennett
4 - Ryan

Vs.

1 - Monahan
2 - Backlund
3 - Bennett
4 - Ryan

Does the team still believe in Sean Monahan as a play driving centre? I'm not a big proponent of moving Lindholm to centre - I prefer him at RW, but I'm not sold on Monahan being able to carry the load defensively/offensively. We'll see how the off-season plays out.

As I know a few posters have mentioned, it wouldn't be crazy to think that Monahan would be better suited on the wing. He could be the trigger man, Johnny the puckhandler (with Lindholm taking some of the burden) and Lindholm the responsible, 200 ft. center.

Gives Bennett the chance to solidify his position at center.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

LeBrun says Hoffman has 1 year offers ranging from $3.5 to $4.5 million but it is probably waiting for LTIR cap space from a contender to fit in or Florida and Nashville to increase their offers.

Monahan to Minny for Marco Rossi please.

Maybe Minny could also throw in Khovanov so he can be reunited with Pelletier sometime in the future.
