Yep thats exactly my point they can't let the Russians catch a hint of momentum. A powerplay goal here, a deflected shot from the point there, they are right back in this thing.

Amazing how all four lines have found chemistry playing a week together or less.

Agreed. All I know is if Canada sticks with the game plan and keeps the heavy hitting and forecheck game going, Russia is toast.

I just fear we'll let up just enough to let the momentum swing.

Ovechkin was playing wimpy and lazy. He gets too much credit for the occasional hit he delivers. A lot of the time he's just sailing around instead of making things difficult for the opposing players.

They'd be stupid to continue with Nabby.

The Nash-for-Morrow swap proving to be extremely important.

A great period to be Canadian hockey fan. Two more like it, please. And if Iggy can get a few goals and Roberto can keep any more pucks from crossing the red line, even better.

that almost goal by the line of Richards-Toews-Nash was incredible, especially for a line that was just put together. after Staal-Crosby-Iginla they have easily been the best line so far, Nash looks like an entirely different player than he did in the first 3 games

Has anyone else noticed the Russians giving us a cushion along the boards in the offensive zone?

It almost seems intentional. Rather than risk losing a battle and being out of position they would rather take their chances keeping them to the outside. Interesting strategy if that is what they are doing.

@DownGoesBrown
The COC just canceled "Own The Podium". New program effective immediately: "Own Evgeni Nabokov".

You know you have a good team when you have two all captain lines

Funny what confidence does to a person.

Nabokov is miles better than Bryz, but he crapped the bed. If Canada continues to pepper the net with 20+ shots in the 2nd period, Bryz won't stand a chance.

I wouldn't hold my breath on Bryz getting the Russians back, nor would I Ovechkin.
