Button or? If your asking what button it is, it is left trigger on 360, and probably L2 on PS3. If your asking what the speed boost is, it should be skating speed.
How do you guys like Online Be A Pro so far. Where you log in with your rookie and everyone has PAID to become superstars.
I play Defensive D, and I'm damned good at it, but this game of numbers and stats is making my player look like a ritard. My only successful play is to just get in the way of pucks positionally, but they can walk right up to my guy and shoot through me, while checking, poke and stick lift all just hit air.
So the sales of the first week got this and the battle between EA and 2k Wasn't even close. EA outsold NHL 2k10 50 to 1. That's quite staggering.
Though not a surprise at all. 2k's stuff has been quite shoddy over the past few years. Player models in EA are FAR superior to those in 2k, and although 2k had the outdoor arena, it still didn't live up to what it should have. They need a few more years to tweak and bring it back up to where it was before they went back to the drawing board.
I won't hesitate to agree that 2K has been lacking for a few years but at least they know how to present an offline franchise experience unlike NHL 10's which is probably the worst I've seen in awhile.
Where the heck do I download the new roster update? I went onto the PS3 store and nothing there, and the menu for NHL 10 is a bit frustrating and couldn't find it in there. Any help is appreciated.

If you play anyone online it will require you to download the latest roster update. It will ask if you want to save it.
speaking of rosters, what was in that 2nd update? i know there was the one on release day that moved heatley to the sharks, but wasn't there another one later in the week?

I played a ###### last night, I pick flyers he goes to west conference, no not going to happen so I go to change to east allstars and he decides to take century team so I move to Sharks, whatever at this point I just wanna play. So we get in the game and all he does it come in and go for wrap. I stopped most of these but then he got smart and would do the cross creaser. I was up 3-0 and the goalie couldnt stop the freaking wrap at all. I played him perfectly but the couple times I couldnt get my guy over there because the goalie got in the way he scored. I lost 4-3.

Its too bad. 2k hockey was far and away the better game last generation. But they never really moved forward in the current generation. EA came up with the skill stick, and it was over. They just kept getting better and better and sadly 2k still seems to be reworking their game and battling their inferiority complex against EA. I'd like to see 2k get their stuff together and release a great game again, the competition is good and keeps things fresh for the consumers.

haha, I hate when someone picks those teams. I usually stall on my team and when he clicks that he is ready I quickly change teams & then go back to my team. If he gets the idea, great! If not, I usually just exit the game.
Also with '09, I would just typically exit a game if all the guy did was try the exact same play every single time (usually the wrap around). I don't care if someone is truely better than I am, but if the only reasoning that they're better than me is that they know the game so well, then it just sucks the fun out of the game.
One more pet peeve haha: People who change jersey's. i.e. away team tries to pick a home colour.

I always preferred the 2k series, I finally switched for '09 because my friends all played EA.

Half of my games are like this. The community online is complete crap, and is infested with 12 year old glitchers who just want wins.
I play to have fun. If I lose in a 5-4 game then I had fun. When I play someone who does the same constant (glitch or no glitch) plays over and over and over again, then I get pissed. Like the stupid poke-check. I mentioned it before, but the guy did it to me all match and it worked EVERYTIME, it got to the point where I said "f*** it, I am going to play keep away" and I skated around in my zone. I hate playing like a dick, but sorry, if your going to play like an a-hole, I will as well. (I won 2-1)
I use Atlanta so I have a pretty noticeable disadvantage to all the guys who use the Penguins or Detroit. Yesterday, this guy chooses San Jose and we start the game, and after some ridiculous pressure by him I notice he's locked in as the left D, which is stupid because he sucked. He gets wins by having the CPU play for him, while he sits back and can't defend at all. I don't get the point of locking in as a player in 1 v 1 play, isn't the whole point of the mode to play against another person by yourself. If you want to play as D go play Be a Pro, online team play, but not Online ranked 1v1 play, it shouldn't be allowed unless it's unranked IMO. I ended up losing in OT like 6-5, his team had like 55 shots, and I had 15, it's just that I suck at playing against the computer, especially on All-Star, so I could never leave the zone.
/rant about very specific thing that will never happen again.
Played online for the first time today. My opponent was the Capitals, and I was the Flames.
I lost 1-0 in OT, and got outshot 26-13.
Wow, you suck. But I outshot someone 53-7 once, and he beat me 3-2 in OT. That was in NHL 09 however, but I still find ranked online versus games to be total bunk. You rarely face someone who is your skill level. I usually dominate, or get dominated (usually by cheaters), and rarely have those 4-3 OT games where we were both even.
