Yeah, Hill has been money so far this season. His numbers will likely drop off a bit, but he should be good for 25+ homers and probably 80+RBIs which is phenomenal production from 2nd base. He's pretty much my favorite ball player right now. I've liked him since the first game I watched him play.
The Doc is, of course, simply incredible.
Lind is on pace for about a billion RBIs and looks like he's been playing in the majors for a dozen years.
Snider looks like he's gonna be a solid ball player.
Scutaro's done about all you could ask and has really solidified the SS position which has been a bit of a problem for years.
Rolen's not the offensive guy he once was, but he's still doing what he can and is a fantastic defensive 3rd baseman.
If Wells and Rios can get going, this team could really be an offensive powerhouse.
As others have mentioned, I keep waiting for a shoe to drop with this team and they just keep winning. Cito's presence and the resulting impact cannot be overstated IMO.
It's fun to be a Jays fan again...for now at least.

Halladay is the best pitcher in baseball. Jays are super lucky to have that guy.

Okay...so when is it acceptable to start believing this team might be for real?
Cause I still can't believe it.

They usually start to screw up in June
So if they are still good till the middle of June, then start to believe.

Well Roy Halladay deserves to get a chance to start a post season game. IMO he's the best pitcher in Baseball by a mile who hasn't had that chance and probably one of the most deserving. Maybe he'll get it this year who knows. Looks good so far, I think he's now at like 24 or 25 straight games with a decision, that speaks about how consistant he has been.

Halladay is a freakin robot, his control is silly. Nice to see a classic AJ Burnett performance, look flashy, walks, strikeouts, big inning, lose.

Anyone know where I can find decent highlights of Blue Jays games? TSN's 1:00 highlight package is stupid.

Did anyone see the sign in the crowd??
"I flew from Calgary to boo AJ Burnett", too funny.
Great to see the Jays keep it rolling and get the 1st win against the Yanks.
Someone on the boradcast mentioned that 54 of the remaining 128 are agains either the Redsox, Yankees or Rays. The Jays need to win a good bunch of those and they should be fine.

best pitcher, period. And to top it off, the guy is a pure professional. For years I wondered what kind of jersey to get for the Jays. Halladay made the choice easy.

I dont believe they have played Boston or Tampa yet. They had a terrible showing against KC (average team).
When they have a good series against a contender, then I will believe. The current Yanks are in a funk and I dont consider them a contender. It was a great game becasue it was against their current best pitcher. Loved the BoooBirds.

Detroit, Texas, and the LA Angels are all in the same range as KC and the Jays were fine in those games. If the Yankees aren't a contender then the Rays aren't right now either, looking at the records. Especially considering A-Rod just came back from injury.

I don't know why TSN seems to get suck love on CP. They have an hour long Sports Centre and they approach it like 2 concurrent 1/2 hour shows with pretty short highlights. Use the full hour, show one full highlight package (instead of 2 abbreviated ones) and then I'll make a point to watch instead of just watching every so often and getting annoyed.
Back to the Jays, I think it will take a while for the fans to come out in big numbers. 80 games x 40,000 is a lot of people and the fans there are just like on here - they have seen too many seasons that get hopes up only to be disappointed. When they start to believe the team has a real shot then they will fill the place again.
Edit: Just noticed a G&M article about attendance at the game yesterday.
Quote:
The Toronto Blue Jays were expecting, at best, a crowd of just over 30,000 for last night's game between the Jays and the New York Yankees.
So when 43,737 poured through the gates at Rogers Centre – the second largest gathering of the year outside of opening day – to witness Roy Halladay battle A.J. Burnett, there was elation in the front office.
Jason Diplock, the Jays vice-president of ticket sales and service, said this morning that there were about 13,000 walk-up sales on the day of the game, an event he said has been unheard of dating back to the World Series days of the early 1990's.

I was referring to the highlight package on their website, it showed two Rolen hits and AJ leaving. That was it. But I watched Sportscenter this morning and caught a longer highlight set, so I was happy with that.

MLB.com has a pretty good video highlight setup. Individual plays and game recaps.

I told my wife yesterday "If the fans don't show up in droves for the game tonight, they don't deserve this team." Good to see they were paying attention.
