Not sure if it has been brought up here, but App Sniper is a way to watch apps you are interested in, and buy them when they go on sale. I think it costs .99, but if you are able to buy just one app at a reduced rate, it is worth it.
If you have a spare $5 laying around and are a fan of unique games I recommend Zen Bound. The game is a little different but quite impressive ... you are given a 3-d wooden block with a string attached to it. By touching the screen or pinching it you can rotate the block in 3-d space. As the string wraps around the block the surface becomes painted. The goal is to paint the entire block while using the smallest amount of string.
The graphics are pretty impressive and the 3-d element works surprisingly well. I give it a solid 4/5.
The Oregon Trail is a very nice update. This version is alot easier then the old one. Worth the 6 bucks, Ive been playing it straight for 4 days. My wagon keeps randomly starting on fire.....
Not sure if it's been mentioned or not, but Jaadu VNC works perfectly. It's really the first remote desktop app that I've see has worked perfectly.
Also, for those looking for a decent terminal app, check out TouchTerm Pro. Very nice, indeed. I prefer it over the free one available through Cydia... which brings me to another point:
Now that 3.0 has tethering, and I've finally found a decent terminal app... I'm running out of reasons to jailbreak my phone. The only reason left is BigBoss Prefs, so I can hide the Stocks App (since I use Bloomberg). With the changes they're making to the Stocks App itself, I'll probably end up dropping Bloomberg too.

I like Winterboard quite a bit.
Also StatusNotifier & HomeScreen2.0. So useful, simple, and obvious; they really should have been included in the stock UI.
Home Screen (Status Notifier at top - near battery icon)
I'm excited because Slingplayer is about to be released so I can watch TV on the go...and now the wifi on my ipod touch has stopped working! A restore did nothing, and I'm three months past warranty or so! I'm booking a Genius appointment today, but I will be PO'd if it can't be fixed! It cost me nearly $500 when the ipod touch first came out!
Wow! I went to the Apple Store today, and after the Geniuses checked my iPod touch over, they replaced it on the spot! It's technically not "new", it's a unit where everything is new except possibly the circuit board (factory refurb) with a 90 day warranty, but I am still really impressed they did that when my iPod was past warranty! Big thumbs up to Apple!

I've actually heard several stories similar to this. A buddy of mine told his dad to go talk to a genius after he broke his iphone screen after dropping it on concrete. They said "ya we've seen this before" and replaced it. Probably not a bad move, I think they made the guy an apple fan for life.
I think that loyalty is the main reason they would do that. I was expecting them to say either "sorry, you're screwed", or "we can send it into the factory for x dollars". I am happy though!
I just downloaded iFishing lite, and I am somewhat impressed. As far as fishing games go, it's fun. I'm just not sure it's fun enough to pay for the full version.
I'm also tempted to try Flight Control...any one tried it?
