Adam Schefter of nfl.com and NFL Network is reporting that the Raiders are close to signing Daunte Culpepper to a one-year deal. Speculation is this is to give the Raiders some leverage in stalled contract talks between the team and first overall pick JaMarcus Russell.

From what I've discovered in the past, if Schefter is saying it, you can basically chalk it up as fact.

Especially Raiders news. Remember he broke out that the HC was to be fired like a week before it happened, and for the several days inbetween Al Davis couldn't stop saying what an idiot Adam is.
