TIA!

Pretty sure I saw this watch at The Bay Downtown while browsing at the watches there over lunch.

I'm not judging. I am genuinely surprised at their cost, but I blow money in all kinds of ways other people would think are ridiculous so I'm not looking down on you guys. You like fancy watches? Go nuts.

I actually got my Speedmaster on my 30th as well, but it was a gift to myself, since no one else was going to spend that kind of money on me. I absolutely love the watch....its' been almost a year but I still find myself staring at it in random daily situations.
Red, that's a very nice vintage piece.

Must be the BB camera
It's a new-ish 3570.
I will post some better pics later.

Timex watches outlast any high-end brand. They take a licking and keep on ticking!

Doh, my bad! I wasn't quite sure, so I made the leap. If I had to buy again, I'd probably get the 3570 myself.
How do you like it with the strap?

Love it. This is not an Omega strap ($900 ) though. It's the Hirsch Professional.
I love the looks of the orignal 849 bracelet, but it feels kind of light and is quite noisy. I much prefer the bracelet on my Seamaster. Both have solid links but the Seamaster one feels much heavier.
Why would you want the 3570 instead of 3573?

My girlfriend wants to get me a really nice watch for our engagement coming up. I'm torn though whether or not it's a good idea for the money. Part of me agrees with having it for 40+ years and something that can be passed down the family. The other part of me wonders if it will get lost or stolen. This is the one I really like, but I don't know if it's worth the cost.

Ha, I just saw an ad in the paper this morning with that exact Cartier. It's definitely a great looking watch, with an in-house movement I believe. If you're gonna get a Cartier, that's probably the one to get, as the others are more fashiony.

It's not necessary that I want it more, it's more about the fact that I'm not sure the sapphire sandwich was worth the extra cash. Don't get me wrong, the sapphire back is awesome, but I don't really look at it much anymore....apart from perhaps showing it to someone. Still fantastic, but probably couldve spent the extra cash on something else.....like another watch?

We would probably buy it in the states, I can't imagine the mark up in Calgary for something like that.

I'm not sure about that, I used to wear this guy:
I really loved that watch, but it kicked the bucket after about a year and a half. I really loved that watch, but for what it cost, it's just not worth it to get it repaired.

The good folks at Calgary Jeweller are usually pretty good about discounting from MSRP. I bought a 'Black' Santos there and IIRC, received something like a 20% discount.
YMMV

That's a rich man's Timex, go for the $60 model, it will last 50 years.

That's pretty good, I was skeptical of buying it here. But I also don't like the idea of paying 7.5% tax in California and 5% when I hit the border here. I guess we'll check them out before heading south in a week.
Thanks!

I got talked out of the 3573 by the dealer for the same reasons. Just like you, I don't know if I made the right decision.
