That is what is always funny about these conditions...if you suck bad enough to be say the 9th pick its stands to reason you might be even worse the following season

He will be traded next deadline (or sooner) with retention for more draft picks.

Only reason he wasn't traded today was because the Flames ran out of retention slots. Two open up this summer.

Yeah. McKinnon will be 33 by 2029. Who knows how elite he will be by then. My bet would be that he is still a top 10 player in the league though - the guy is a beast when it comes to fitness.

I dont mind Olofsson too as a powerplay trigger man short term. I think he is Sharangovich without the horrible contract, a little less size and a little more hustle. I wouldnt mind seeing him extended for a season on a show me deal if they could move sharangovich out somehow at the draft, but I am pretty sure his contract has massive negative value
