I heard there might be season ending surgery for Basha.

I still can’t believe that we got Mews in the third round. I think his ceiling is a #3 right shot D. Great pick. That whole draft is looking great

Good for Lipinski ^
Dont think he will earn an ELC.
But an AHL deal is not out of the question and then let him develop more.

Mews put up a bunch of those numbers without Pinelli on the 67’s. Ottawa is not a very good team this year, with really only 3 good players. They will be trading Pinelli almost certainly so it will be interesting to see how Mews finishes out the year. But he will be almost a one man show after the deadline. Still don’t understand how he fell to the third round.

Quote:
The Ottawa 67's blueliner led all OHL defencemen in scoring with four goals and 16 assists, recording points in 10 of the 11 games he played last month. The 18-year-old had six multi-point games through that stretch and his single-game high came on Dec. 14 when he put up four assists against Barrie.

Mews leads all OHL defencemen in scoring this season with 49 points through 35 games and is now only 12 points shy of tying his career-high in points, which he set in 65 games in 2023-24. The Flames selected the Ottawa product in the third round (74th overall) of the 2024 NHL Draft.

Yeah I remember noticing Mews at U18s just before the draft. Was stoked the Flames got him. I also wanted Carter George after watching that tourney, but can't win em all.

Jan.4th:

Misa gets 1a, -1, and went 10/18 in faceoffs, as the Steelheads beat Flint, 5-4 in OT. He's hit a bit a slide lately, with just 4 points in his last 5, but he still occupies the 9th-spot in the OHL scoring race (16th in plus/minus) with 36gp/21g/31a/52pts,+19, 2 PIM.

Parekh gets 2a, and was +3 with 6 shots in a 5-0 win over the Soo. He is 4th in scoring by D in the OHL with 32gp/12g/31a/43pts,+13, 47 PIM.

Zeroes for Laing in a 3-0 win over Seattle. 35gp/10g/11a/21pts,+6, 26 PIM.

Lipinski picks up 1g, 2a, +1, and goes 9/16 in faceoffs in a 7-0 victory over Kelowna. With 11 points in his last 6 games, he is now up to 28gp/6g/20a/26pts,+5, 22 PIM.

Jamieson gets no points, and was -1 in a 4-3 SO loss to Victoria. He is 8th-overall in plus/minus, and tied for 24th in scoring by D in the WHL, with 37gp/7g/16a/23pts,+27, 31 PIM.

Jan.5th:

No points for Mews, and even, with 5 shots in a 4-3 OT loss. Only 1 point in the last 3 games, but he's still tops in scoring by D in the OHL (tied with Luca Marrelli, but with 2 less games played) with 37gp/11g/38a/49pts,-5, 38 PIM.

Morin was named second star in a 5-1 win (it seems like they win every second game by that score) over Halifax, with 1g, and +2. He still occupies the second spot in scoring by D in the Q, with 34gp/10g/28a/38pts,+21, 20 PIM, and he is tied for 8th-overall in plus/minus.

Gridin picks up 1a, and was +1 as the Cataractes defeat Sherbrooke, 6-3. He is 9th in Q scoring, with 35gp/21g/24a/45pts,+15, 19 PIM.
