Speaking of Saginaw, how about that Michael Misa?

Misa isn’t getting the respect or recognition that he deserves, IMO.

Misa has an 81 card in HUT this year (same as Parekh).

Misa is known for his elite skating and passing, with 13 goals in 9 games did he find another niche? and if he scores 60-70 does he threaten 1st OA?
Hagens is a wicked player but he's small and a 2006 birthday.
Oh, and Misa actually is a natural center but for some reason is playing wing.

Really? He's taking a lot of faceoffs for a winger...

I see what you mean about the skating style. Frankly, I think his skating would translate just fine to the NHL. It's his body that needs to catch up. Training camp showed that he just isn't strong enough yet to handle NHL opponents. The only cure for that is time.

His skating is fantastic. The guy he reminds me most of is Quinn Hughes

I think he's got good edges and quick transitions but his skating doesn't have that power yet. Straight line speed he's actually not that fast. Still needs a lot of work IMO.

He glides well but that explosiveness that makes Makar successful isn't there. As is that shiftiness that particular guys have. In no way do I want that to be a negative, just that he's got work for himself that'll just take time. I think it was responsible they put him down to the minors for a year or two. His body will mature over time. NHL guys are strong and can keep up with him as he is right now. If he progresses perhaps he can be like Hughes or Makar.

Had such a fun (maybe not *so* fun for the coaches) game tonight. 1 assist (6-on-5 with the net empty), 9 shots (plus another 5+ attempts that missed the net by inches), 6 PIMs, multiple penalties drawn, and a couple pinch attempts/turnovers at the blueline that turned into 2-on-1s against (including the 5-2 goal)

His first two steps are high level speed and agility, with great awareness.

Is this abnormal for a prospect at that age? Very few are fully polished and if they were, they would have been top 2-3 picks.

How many points in how many games did he have last year? That is one of the main indicators I'm using for improvement

Based on that metric, he's regressed.
96 pts in 66 games.
vs
9 pts in 8 games.

I don't think he really needs to show improvement there. He needs to get better at playing defense, not producing offense. His numbers may need to go down offensively by eliminating the low percentage offensive plays that lead to turnovers, but he will be a better player.

I don't think we can expect a big improvement in points. Last year was already outrageous for a defenseman. This year should be about developing the rest of his game without giving up on the offense.
