I still wonder if we're looking for a pairing for Tanev or Zadorov to start the season. It might require a very different play style depending on the partner.

Hunt, Zary, Coronato, Solovyov and Klapka have all done a decent job so far in vying for a roster spot.

(I’d consider Ruzicka to be basically a lock)

Honzek trending towards bust. Gets outscored by Rooney. Hate to see it. I only caught bits of the game but he played more than I would have guessed. Could be a good quiet though

Good bounce back game for Wolf. It will be very interesting to see how he transitions to the NHL. Very skilled but definitely small. His size definitely stood out when watching him.

I like Klapka but I've been a bit underwhelmed by him as the preseason competition has got tougher. Not even close to giving up on him but he doesn't look ready to me. Still time in camp to show he belongs.

Only caught the highlights but my takeaways from that limited viewing are:


1. Wolf needs an old-school Vernon-style mask.


2. The term "attractive release" needs to become common parlance.

Both Coronato and Ruzicka look like they belong in the NHL and Solovyov looks to be an eventual NHLer. Wolf also had an excellent game.
