FIFA probably feels they've been blindsided. You want to do what? Now? You're going to get yellow carded.

Infantino is running for re-election unopposed again, third term. That tells you everything.
Hahahaha, the "poor FIFA" argument is one that I am wholly unprepared for.

As an aside, if you're in the prediction pool I set-up, I just checked and realised that I put the Netherlands-Senegal score as 24-0 somehow!

USA is buzzing, should be able to knock of Wales today IMO.

These USA jerseys are terrible. Striping patterns are brutal.

I know it's stupid but that's how arrogant they are.

It was interesting to learn that the downfall of FIFA really started in North America, CONCACAF and specifically the Bahamas because all of the votes count the same but the Bahamas just has more countries.

Also the Bahamas are notirous for financial propriety and strict legislation concerning ethics and proper business practices.

Europe has the most money and is financially the most important, but they dont have the most influence in the actual process itself.

And America isnt finishing this match with 11 men at this rate.

USA maybe buzzing a bit too much as two needless yellow cards that were probably both deserved.

Yeah, they have to calm down. Granted, I'm all for Wales winning this one.

It just feels like most of the Welsh National Team that I recognize are so old that they should be collecting Pensions.

Right now America's best chance seems to be a goal from Joe Rodon.

He's looked the most likely to score thus far.

US with the deserved lead

I’m intrigued by some of the (real) attendance stats for these games though because man do these stadiums look and feel lifeless today.

None of the normal fun and excitement of a World Cup.

Very much so.

That was like a hot knife through butter.

Looks like a completely different US team from the one I watched in qualifying.

Is Wales that bad? Or is Canada just that good?

Yanks would have been angry to go into HT 0-0, pretty good effort so far and deserving the lead. Will be interesting to see if Wales can get back into this

I mean by pure rankings alone, US and Wales are neck and neck (16 and 19 respectively). But Canada has beaten teams in the same range recently (Mexico , US and Japan, 13, 16 and 24). The U.S. only has 3 wins in their last 10 international matches though, so who really knows.

I think it has more to do with styles of play, formation, and team conditioning at least at this point in the Cup.

Personally I think Canada could compete here pretty well with these two.
