Put Maguire back in for Sunday please

As I recall the Irish Times is a Liverpool heavy bar, but probably the best place in Victoria to watch. Bard and Banker is good too.

Speaking of Liverpool, they really better be sure they're getting Bellingham next summer, because their strategy of putting all of their midfield improvement eggs in his basket have essentially made this season a writeoff, at least in the PL. When even Everton can control midfield against you....yikes.

I only saw the highlights, but how was that not a red card on Van Dijk?!

I think it was borderline, if it had been an inch or two higher then definitely a red.
What I don't understand is how Everton's goal took so long to review. He was about a yard offside and yet the commentators were going on about a razor thin margin.

It looked offside in real time.
They need to develop a much more robust and efficient protocol for VAR and then actually train the practioners using it.
That may sound sensible, but appears to be groundbreaking to those administering the system.

Haha, there was nothing borderline about it. That's a red all day.

I use Fubo and I can't say I've noticed anything terrible about it. It's basically the same as DAZN from what I can tell.

West Ham fans should be fuming after that horrific call at the end there. How Bowen can foul Mendy when Mendy dives into him is definitely something.

Yeah, no way that's a foul. VAR is just ridiculous, as usual. It's correcting these "clear and obvious" errors that aren't actually errors. Meanwhile Van Dijk with the leg breaker and it's fine. Such poor implementation.

Complete joke. This sport always finds ways to encourage diving and theatrics.
Mandy should have been punished for rolling around on the floor instead of getting up, but instead he's vindicated.

people are getting ahead of themselves. Agüero had 8 goals in his first 5 PL games back then too, he finished with 23. Haaland's started at a ridiculous clip, but it's an extremely long season and he's had injury issues before. There's a reason why 30+ goals in a PL season are a rare feat.
And for all of Haalands brilliance, City haven't been all that flawless. They've now dropped points against Newcastle and a Villa team that has started poorly into this season, and they could (or should) have been down 3-0 against Palace too if the ref had done his job.

The authorities governing football have invested heavily in technology to ensure fairness in the game and reduce the doubt over the decision making process.
Yet somehow, they’ve conspired to make it exponentially worse as well as slowing down the game and often disrupting its flow. The result is, no one has a clue what the hell is going on, or what the outcome of any major event in any game will be.
Incompetency and/or negligence on this scale would likely ruin any business. But, no, the Premier League and almost all involved are rolling in cash.
It’s sickening.
