Exactly. I will end up on there. No shame in venting some neggie nelly occasionally (key word). It's ok to laugh at yourselves.

Said this last game and maybe before Game 2 as well, but once Dallas gets down by 2 realizes they aren’t one or two lucky bounces away from tying a game, and they have to break their defensive shell even a little, they know they are in trouble for giving up more because they just can’t keep up and match 4 lines coming at them in waves….unless you give them dumb power plays.

Good read ... I thought the same about Seguin. He looked like "ok they've found their game, we're toast"

It did feel like the dam broke a bit yesterday and the Flames started to dictate the pace of the series. When the Stars lost the lead, they lost their defensive system a bit.

I expect and hope that the Flames learned something from last night and come out hard tomorrow night.

I really appreciate Millen. Every time I yell "What the #### are you doing there?" he seems to immediately voice my concerns in a much more tactful, hockey-sound manner - like the shot that Rasmus blew way wide off the rush. So it calms me down too, knowing that, OK at least someone's calling it out in a very public manner.

The Wall of Shame is a great playoff treat, and I thought it was hilarious. I was literally hoping I would be on it. I've been pretty pessimistic since game 1 haha.
What a crappy time to be out of thanks. Some top notch gifs in the thread.

I can't believe the ATL and the oiler fans. Is there a more un-self-aware fanbase? Imagine having your skills competition captain, on the competition committee, campaigning for more calls, only to whine when that occurs legitimately! (while your guy cheats to get more too I might add)

The thing is, I get it. Its about the spirit of it, taking quotes while people are in the heat of the game is completely out of context.

But that appears to be part of the joke.

It was a shame Mang got called on that chincy trip after watching one of the most dominant stretches of play I've seen in a playoff game in a loooooooong time. It was a thing of beauty watching a team in the NHL playoffs make the other team look like a bunch of beer leaguers.
I'd rather the refs put the whistles away on that kind of thing. Same as the penalty shot. Let them play. I mean, it was super exciting to see Gaudreau score, but I'd rather watch the Flames beat the living snot out of a Stars line for 8 minutes straight and THEN score.

I know it’s obvious but the 5 on 3 goal to me might be the series changer. Not just that the goal itself was key, but I was concerned about not scoring and the implications for the game and therefore the series.

The Penalty Shot....okay, I dont think I've ever seen a PS in a Playoff game before but...I watched that live and I knew they were going to toss Klingberg.

That was a penalty every day and twice on Sundays...a blind man could have seen it.

I think I even saw the Ref shrug his shoulders before awarding it. Like:

"What do you want me to do? He slashed his hands, on a breakaway, twice."

And the thing is...thats a huge risk. This isnt soccer where a penalty is like 90% a goal, in hockey its pretty 50/50. Oettenger makes that save and momentum swings like a huge pendulum.

I will agree that I loved watching the Stars being penned in their own zone. Klingberg was on the ice for four and a half minutes? That kind of icetime wears on you over a series.

The penalty after that was pure game management.

I agree. If Dallas scores first, the last drop of confidence is gone from the Flames and the series is over. Oettinger was playing out of his mind, and it would have just cemented the fact that he's going to steal the series, despite how well the Flames were playing.

Flames desperately needed to score first to get some confidence in themselves. I hope they roll the next two games, and I think they will. They are playing like their game now, and when they execute their plan, they are pretty unstoppable.

I haven't scrolled through all 300+ posts, so apologies if this is a repeat, but dammit it drives me crazy that people are talking about "2 down, 14 to go!"Wills' call as the buzzer went off last night is bonkers. No, Derek. It's 2 down, 2 to go. Let's win a flipping series before talking about another one.

It was my birthday yesterday and it was perfect.
Jake Oettinger is the real deal and the Stars should be embarrassed by how they have played in front of him.

 Complete domination last night.
