If true, to me it sounds like there out on Freeman then. Likely Ramirez as well. Chapman and Shwarber would not be to shabby at all though.

Chapman is one of the best defensive players in all of baseball, he is elite and for a pitching staff that induces a lot of ground balls getting him will be huge.
I also think his bat will bounce back being in this lineup

Chapman seems like an excellent fit - probably more of a natural fit that Freeman would have been. Hopefully, in a lineup with Vlad, Teoscar, George, and Bo he will get better pitches to hit and can feast at the Rogers Centre.

Great news on Chapman. Keen to hear what they had to give up.
Disappointed about Schwarber. This lineup desperately needs a LH impact bat IMO.

Last year was his worst offensive season and he was still a league average bat (lots of pop though) with gold glove defense at 3rd.
If his bat bounces back then this goes from a great addition to a stellar addition. Also, I read he has a career .940 OPS at Rogers lol
Now I just want to know what the Jays gave up. Hearing Kevin Smith is part of it, which makes sense. Hopefully none of the top 5 guys though.

Interesting move. I understand going defense first, and bat should improve with banning of the shift.

Yup, I think Hoglund will be very good, but the rest...good deal for the Jays

Hoglund is really the only impact piece going back, really good trade for the Jays. Essentially moving a bunch of depth pieces for a starting 3B.

Chapman is an underrated player. Very happy they went for him. Especially at that price paid.

Oakland 3B Josh Donaldson was also 28 when he was traded to the Blue Jays...just sayin'.
