I’ve been hard on the flames for not having a very high compete level. The more I watch these games the more I believe that this team is just not very good. Slow and lacks creativity. Also, Johnny and Monohan just aren’t first line players. In fact this team does not have a top line threat. Some nice complementary pieces but that’s all.
I do believe that Sutter is the right guy to coach a team and have them play above their skill level, but this team just doesn’t have it in them.

Mangi works so hard, but makes so really poor decisions often. He's a quantity over quality guy a lot of time.
2 missed nets all alone in the slot in the 1st, and after a great forecheck to steal the puck a bad pass with Lucic all alone in the slot.
Definitely better than the top players who aren't providing quality OR quantity at this point... but still super frustrating.

No they haven't. This is the Flames' 3rd game in 4 nights, playing vs the top team in the division. The Leafs were coming off a 4 day break. Have some perspective.
