Partly, but if I have a roster full of players that need a coach to motivate them enough to start on time I'm not squarely putting that on the coach.

Brutal call on Hamonic. If the flames end the second within one, the Flames will win.

I find blaming the coach for the team coming out flat is such a media thing to do. Most of the time, it's the players pumping each other up and playing off each other.

Maybe true, but we've been saying that for 3 coaches now

What an asinine point to make.....like thats some sort of a accomplishment for a 5th year player?

I think these types of games show the inexperience of Ward. I think we need a coach who is experienced in dealing with matchups and more or less a playoff mindset where you should have a game plan to beat a certain team. And I'm not confident in Ward's ability to do that this year. It also feels like Lucic has some friendships in Edmonton and just doesn't show up against them. He doesn't do much the other games but at least he has a presence, but against Edmonton, he is just flat out invisible.

Yeah, like, that's a wicked good accomplishment for our highest draft pick ever.

We crap on Bennett cuz he's awful a lot of the time. He just about had me fooled with some nice plays the other night, but alas.

Almost as asinine as bad mouthing him in the last 3 games, like he's been a problem. People just need to bitch and whine about something.

The biggest indictment for Ward is that Hanifin has more than about 4 minutes of ice here. He's been awful from the drop. Trouble is, our next-best left d is Kylington, and he's not exactly Mr Stable out there either.

Time for some trades Mr T.

Too bad he doesn't show up for the other 77

I thought we played decent but every mistake wound up in our net, it’s part of the game.

We are going to win this game. I have faith the Oilers will fail, they always do.

No. The fact that he's essentially a wasted high pick has set this team back badly. Him not being okay is not okay. Now, maybe we have to get over that, but he's a whipping boy for a reason.

That has always been my concern with Ward. His record has been great so for that I can see him continuing to get a chance. However his in game management at times is very suspect. Especially on a night like this, with the last change. Formulate a strong game plan to stop McDavid and Draisatl. Yes it’s good to roll 4 lines but when you have two elite threats on a team, there is a checking line for a reason.

What works against him on the shift after the flames goal is that Gio was on the ice for Robinsons goal. Hence the only defensive option to put out there against McDavid would be Hamonic/Hanifin. That one is squarely on that duo, the sustained pressure.
