Other than bragging rights, I find it difficult to imagine why any normal (non business) household would need or use 3 GB fibre. I’m out in the North Okanagan/Shuswap in the middle of everywhere and have stupendous 1 GB Telus fibre…but I can’t get them to give me more, even though my business could use it. And I hate that I can’t run their fibre, which goes to the rack directly, right into my UDMP, but I need to use their NAH.
I DO pay a premium for a Business / 5 IP Static subnet than residential, so kinda pi**ed at that.

Two kids with PlayStations that also need to stream YouTube while playing so they can watch other people playing the same game, then the dad streaming sports the mom streaming hallmark and 2-3 neighbors stealing your wifi.
It adds up lol.
In all seriousness I have 3GB for $80 a month, 1GB was $79 a month so it seemed like a reasonable choice. I do have the fibre directly connected to my UDMP but bottleneck on my APs as they are about 6 years old.

You may not need to use the NAH. I stumbled on this ( https://pon.wiki/category/telus/) while I was trying to decide if I wanted to go with Telus 3Gb service. Seems like it's a decent extra expense and technically reasonably challenging, but can be done.

It's never the regular usage that gets annoying. It's setting up brand new devices with like 100GB in downloads and updates going simultaneously going at the same time as everyone else's regular usage that makes the areas in the home with slightly weak signal suddenly very noticeable.
But this is first world problems stuff. lol.

I've read here and there about something similar to this on reddit...with varying degrees of success....this, however is pretty detailed and seems like it might be a way of getting the NAH out of my rack...will investigate!!
Thanks.
