There certainly are GMs that covet Hamilton and would pay a lot if he came available

Arizona has chased Hamilton since the bruins trade. The only reason why he's not a coyote right now is because Arizona wouldn't deal the 3rd overall pick for him. They wanted Strome who they felt they needed to go up against kopitar/getzlaf/Thornton.

And there are Gms right now that would pay dearly. He's exactly the player Toronto, Edmonton and other teams really need.

Not that I'm saying Hamilton should be traded but if he was....I'd expect a lot coming back.

I forgot Arizona drafted Strome over Marner lol.

If Arizona is crazy enough to trade this years 1st for Hamilton, do it.

They will finish around 29th or 30th and there is a very good chance to draft Brady Tkachuk.

If Arizona is crazy enough? I imagine they'd do that in a second and laugh all the way home.

Is Brady Tkachuk really projected to be all that good?

Honest question. My impression was 2nd line ceiling.

He has been ranked top-5 by all the scouting services.

Well he kinda has? A 15 goal rookie season as a 3rd liner is pretty decent. That's more than adequate production IMO. I don't know where your/others expectations were at though.

Yes. I think the Flames will need a big season out of him next year.

I don’t know.
He’s 30th in rookie scoring, with a pretty hefty minus as a 23 year old.
Probably expected a lil more.

The return for Hamilton has to be a lottery 1st AND a top 6 fwd - or else Calgary loses the trade.

This sort of return would mean BT is cashing in on his good deal for Hamilton and offsetting the overpayment for Hamonic and the whiff on Bennett.

There is no chance Tre is trading Hamilton to any team when Dougie is a big right handed shot D-man with proven offensive skills and decent defensive abilities. He's also only 25 this year. Brady Tkachuk is not even a generational player. A left shot center, which the Flames have plenty already and this isn't fill the right shot right wingers that the Flames are trying to fill on the top and all other lines.

If the Flames are trying for a high 2018 first round draft pick, the likely player to give up is Gio while he's still has a few years for a team to benefit from his offensive and defensive talent.

Tad unrealistic.

We're talking about Dougie Hamilton. Has he garnered a single Norris trophy vote yet?

If you're expecting both, be prepared to be disappointed.

You think Dougie is a generational player?

Yeah.
He was 9th in Norris voting last season.
