Lol @ the "fans" who apologize for the blatantly inconsistent refereeing and trash our own players instead. Some "fans" you are. Sickening
That's not it. The Flames got jobbed on the no goal, got jobbed multiple times on pathetic calls. Maybe the coaching staff hasn't clued in yet but this is expected in Anaheim, look at the last 26 games there. Have to be smarter and overcome it, do everything you can to limit the excuses for the officials to make cheap calls. The Flames didn't do that and it cost them the game.
Except for the first two minutes (Elliott) and the last five minutes (Hamilton and Brodie)....the Flames played a helluva hockey game. Fix that and they will be tough to beat.
It was smart optics on GG's part not to challenge. Pretty sure when i was lipreading them during the discussion they felt it was pointless at that point.
Yeah pretty positive I read Cameron saying "Really whats the ####ing point?"

Too mad to be rational right now so I'll just make it short and stupid: the Honda Center Curse is real, Elliott is way too inconsistent, looks all world or gives up softies all over the place, Wideman effect still exists, Dougie Hamilton isn't smart, Brouwer needs to sit and Lazar needs in, Gaudreau was good but seriously needs to man up.
I'm flabbergasted at how this team continually finds ways to lose in this building. The refs need to be changed, they are a complete travesty. If players are held accountable for their performance, then so too should the refs.
Go cheer for the Oilers and hand in your membership card if you feel that way. It's the ultimate insult to Flames Fans to say the Oilers are better than us!
I am sorry that I do not think that the Flames are the greatest team ever.
Like it or not, there are plenty of things that the Flames should be envious of the Oilers for this season.
MAn, good on GG to call out the Zebras. He'll catch a fine for it, but who cares. It's absolute horse manure that the goal that they called good on Moose in regular season suddenly is a no goal cause Playoffs (but we all know cause Wideman for real).
I won't comment any further because I can feel my disappointment and rage starting to froth again and I don't want to say anything I might not actually mean.
We won't blame you if you go off on the refs. Your not going to get fined!

It's equally as sad reading posts of people who clearly are talking out of their bunghole about Flames being the inferior team. Both teams played even, you guys just look like smug aholes talking down to the rest of us and trying to make it sound like Flames got outplayed when anyone watching the two games can clearly see they weren't.
The Flames will never win with a guy like Gaudreau as the best player. He is simply to easy to play against, he folds under physical play and he refuses to shoot the puck. Then you have a guy like Hamilton who has absolutely no f'ing brains. Your playing in Anaheim, you know you got what 3 consecutive power plays in the 2nd and you grab someones stick as blatantly obvious as it was. These guys are losers and have no shot at winning this series. Ducks win in 5, not because they are vastly superior skill wise but because they have brains and we don't.
Good job johnny, pass it into the corner wide open in the slot with 12 seconds left. Idiot.
When the referees watched the replay on the tablet, they were checking to see 2 things. One if the puck went in and secondly if the posts were on the post when it did. During the watching of that replay, they(toronto) decided the goal went in and the posts were on, but there was goaltender interference to allow it to enter the net.
When he came out to explain it over the PA system he said,
" after further review there is no goal....there was goaltender interference on the goalie "(redundancy and all but thats what he said)
So if GG was to call for a review it would have been to challenge something they already decided after review. In others words....pointless.
If that was a goal going against the Flames everyone here would say no goal, the goaltender was unable to make a save due to his blocker and pad being pushed into the net at the same time. It is unfortunate for the Flames but especially this year where they have been very adamant about any contact with the goaltender that impedes movement and the ability to make a save that it is no goal. Chaisson and Bennett were both in the crease and pushed Gibson into the net during the save. That has been called back all year. The fact is that if it was called a goal Anaheim would have challenged it right away and it would have been called back.
Past that the referees weren't that bad, the calls went against both teams - Elliott embellished the contact with Getzlaf and Bouma's theatrics looked quite embellished as well. Both penalties in my opinion but in both cases it looked a bit suspicious as to how each player went down.
Bennett has been one of the best players on the ice this series. I don't get why fans are upset with him when we have top players completely pooping the bed.
Guys, don't get me wrong. I AM A SAM BENNETT FAN. I'm just saying it would be nice to see him take over a game like you would hope for in a top five pick. I'm not calling him a bust, or even a disappointment. I love the kids passion. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and he has much improved defensively, and has even become a good penalty killer this season. I just wish he could flash his gamebreaking skill like he did so many times last season.
