Maybe I'm late to the party, but what did I miss about the MIB saying "I thought they retired you?"

I told my wife that Evan Rachel Wood was once engaged to Marylin Manson and she didn't believe me. She's turning into a pretty good actress.

It was the hot blonde that first welcomed William to the park. She propositioned him in the costume change room and he meekly declined.

She was the same host who first greets William at the Welcome Center when they arrive at Westworld in the second episode.
On its own, it doesn't really mean anything because we know the MIB has been going there for 30 years. From Dolores' flashback, we know that host has been around since the beginning. They could have crossed paths at any time in those 30 years. Combined with everything else, it seems to be another clue that the multiple timeline theory is correct.
Also, if William & Logan's timeline is the same as the MIB's, it's odd that she was so quickly retasked from being a greeter in the Welcome Center to a character in the new narrative with the MIB and Teddy.

Episode 8 music was the aforementioned "house of the rising sun" and Amy Winehouse "back to black" (had to look that one up) I also recognized the Gorgon scene from Star Trek, and Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey haha...
I thought Ford's take on the differences between humans and hosts quite poetic. The same mundane loop. Ford trying to figure out his own "maze" to lead him to his own creator... it would be interesting if they go deeper into that, but I think it would overshadow the whole main 'park' storyline... but the parallels are fun to think about. I was also thinking how the hosts are more humane than humans, and the verse "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth" came to mind. Humans are becoming more cold, calculated and detached as the hosts become more caring, compassionate and "human." Wow, what a great show!

Something just occurred to me, what if they don't give us the timeline payoff next week? I'm gonna revolt like an angry android.
Seems all but confirmed now. William works for company gonna take over park, mib is on board, pic of William's fiancé is same pic Delores and her dad found in the sand.
So Delores killed Arnold eh? Interesting.
There's so much more. Too much to remember. I'm gonna do a binge next weekend in anticipation.

I think the timelines are settled.
What are you looking for in terms of payoff.

Anyone have any thoughts on Maeve and Hector dying by fire? That seems like a horrible way to go out, even if you know you'll be resurrected. I would think that if a host was badly enough damaged they would be retired all together, or at least that specific body would be, and they would just jam the programming into a newly made body. Sort of like they did with Clementine. Could that be part of Maeve's plan? Get her and Hector's bodies put into the decommissioned area for some reason?
Other than wondering about that, I thought it was another great episode! I haven't checked yet, but i hope next week's season finale is extra length. It really seems like there is a lot to wrap up and I hope they don't leave too much hanging for season 2.

I'm not sure MiB/William really rapes Delores when he drags her into the barn. He says it's time to get reacquainted, and they imply he means to rape her when he pulls out his knife, but I don't think MiB/William is really that far gone. He did really care for Delores in the past. I think he kick started her awakening in the barn somehow, but not by raping her, which shouldn't kick start anything, since that's been her loop for 30 years already.

Oh, and since they keep refusing to show us for sure the Elsie is dead, I'm going to assume that she's still alive. Ford having Bernard kill her never made a lot of sense, since she was helping thwart actions by the board that were going against Ford. I could definitely see this remaining a mystery past the end of this season though...

I just don't know what to say. With all the theories being confirmed so far, I'm definitely going to be looking at every single minute of this show with a speculative eye going forward.
I wonder if William really is the MiB now. Or maybe, with the twist of William's personality, if something doesn't happen to him and Logan is the actual MiB. Perhaps the William/Logan/Delores incident is what spurs the MiB's interest in the park, and the attempt to uproot the whole thing.
We do know that he is a philanthropist of some kind, and we know Logan is the one with connections in the park.
Still, I think at this point it makes more sense that William is the MiB.

Oh one more, when Logan said they made him a colonel or general or whatever, was anyone else thinking that his pin looked like he'd actually been named hand of the king?

One of the many, many Westworld blogs and youtube videos I've watched in the last week mentioned that when it first showed up in episode 8. I have to assume it's an easter egg/joke for fans of GoT. I wonder if there are any other subtle references to other ongoing HBO shows.

The one thing that I cannot reconcile with the William is the MiB theory is last week the MiB told Teddy that he never saw the hosts as alive until he witnessed Maeve grieving over her dead child. Just look at this William dude. Can anyone here can say he doesn't see Dolores as alive? For a long time now I was thinking the MiB was Logan but he has brown eyes.

Just throw us a casual reference to "middle-out compression" in some lab tech dialogue.
About techs, I also have to think that with no body shown, Elsie isn't dead. I like the theory that Elsie suspected Bernard being a host, and while being attacked by him, was able to issue the shutdown command. Then Elsie erased the memory from Bernard, and sent him back into the world (well, the park), while spying on him.
Elsie then sends out a signal, prompting her reluctantly trustworthy Hemsworth pal to come find her in her hiding spot, possibly aided by some overridden Ghost Nation to help ensure Hemsworth found her alright.
Or else of course she could have been replaced by a bot, and becomes Ford's new inside (wo)man.
