For me, it is tough to cheer for Kane and Keith. St. Louis always has difficulty in the playoffs and Chicago always seems to be there; I tend to side with the underdog. I think the Stars will handle either team.

Being an elite skater can take you a long way in this league and Bouwmeester is as prime of an example of that as you'll find. Average to below average at literally every aspect of the game except his skating is 10/10. Without it, he would be a slightly better version of Chris Butler. Even in his Florida days his point totals were inflated by over-usage due to his name/draft pedigree.

I don't really think Dallas will neat either though.

Dallas gets so little respect it blows me away. If one of their goalies gets hot, or even semi-hot, they have a great chance at winning the cup IMO. They are as good, or better, than anyone that's not Washington.

One wonders if it's a coaching strategy. Lots of points in Florida, struggles under Sutter's dump and chase, on pace for 15 goals and 37 points of 82 under Harley's active defence (at least a couple I recall from being allowed to run within 2-3 feet in front of the net). Then quickly goes back to this in St Louis.
