That should pretty much seal the division for the Jays. I don't see the Yankees coming back from 3.5 games down in 10 days.

Awesome awesome awesome. I don't know if I can mentally handle playoff Blue Jay baseball. Tonight was too much of an emotional roller-coaster for me, i could barely handle myself.

So 9-4 vs. the Yankees in August and September. You really couldn't have asked for much better.

3.5 with 10 games to go... If they go 5-5, the Yanks have to go 9-2

"Brett Cecil had a 5.96 ERA on June 21. Since then? 28 innings, 38 K, 0.00 ERA #BlueJays"
Two words. HOLY S###. Filthy ass Cecil.

I don't agree. He's not a closer. Don't mess with his confidence

100% agree. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Osuna's done a terrific job of closing since he took it away from Cecil. Also, the kid's been pitching with MEN since he was 16 in the Mexican League. This isn't his first rodeo dealing with guys who can swing the bat. Don't let the small sample size of "bad" games fool you, he's been solid all season.

The Rays pitching scares me more than the O's. That team is just a grindy/relentless team that always gives the Jays fits. If anyone here is thinking that the Rays and O's will just fold like cheap tents, you're wrong...specially Tampa Bay.

Magic number aside, chances are if the Jays can win 5-6 games, they'll win the pennant.

Help, save, whatever.

I don't care what anyone says, I don't want the Jays playing the Yankees in the first round. So if the Jays can win tops in the East, I really hope the Yankees lose their wildcard game. All these games were really close and could have gone either way. Plus I feel like the Yankees are like the LA Kings, they know how to change gears in the playoffs.

Jays most likely opponent at this point is the Texas Rangers.
Would really, really like to avoid them.

You have to expect any team to make the post-season to be a tough out and the games to be close.
I would rather have the Yankees than the Rangers.

The team with the a +2 run differential? They've been hot since trade deadline, but they just don't match up well with the Jays at all. The team is avoid would be someone like the Astros who have the starting pitching to neutralize the Jays bats in a short series. Texas will have to outscore the Jays given their pitching and that's not in their favor when the Jays can throw out Price & Stroman twice.

FYP.
It's all but over in the AL East. Can't deny Toronto has been the better team. Hoping for a playoff matchup down the road.

Runners on 2nd & 3rd with two outs in the bottom of the 7th and Russell Martin is looking at a 2-2 count, I sent a message to some friends "This team has got to stop leaving runners on base, it's killing them!".
Almost immediately, Russell Martin shut me up and I've never been happier to be proved wrong.
