Maybe just me, but i dont see a team anymore that is going to trade for Hiller. He makes $4.5 million and i highly doubt a team wants to pay that for a back-up. Unless i'm missing a team that needs a starter.
Got the feeling now flames will just ride with Hiller and Ortio. They will make a decision after the season whether they have to pick up a #1.

On top of Poirier, whats the guess as to who do you add to pry Galchenyuk out of MTL? We know they love Poirier, value him highly I think.

For sure, all you points are spot on. I'm just saying in my perfect world we would roll with Ramo/Ortio. But highly highly likely it's Hiller/Ortio with hopefully Joni playing well enough to cement himself as the #1. No offense to Hiller but his penchant for letting a brutal softy at least once a game is frustrating.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
The Oilers will try for a UFA d-man today, they've already contacted camps for the likes of Franson, Sekera, Green, among others...
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Have to think the Bruins will take a run at Mike Green as well, potentially Detroit, too

Complete guess:
I believe we walk away today with:
One of Downey or Frolik
One of Ehrhoff or Franson
Would be happy if we make no moves today.

Told Calgary inquired about Franson & Martin, but are no longer in the mix.

Prediction time? I'll play along .
1. Semin signs a two year 8 million dollar contract with the Flames
2. Two goalie trades today for Calgary
3. One gigantor trade no one saw coming.

Seriously? The GM that signs him to this deal might as well brush up his resume too. Will be needing it this time next year.

Would love Sekera. Beauchemin would be another guy I'd like. Green would fit well too. Hell any of the UFA dman would be an upgrade!

$5M for Beleskey? Dear lord.
Flames should stay far away from Frolik if that's any indication.
The more I've thought about it, I kind of hope the Flames trade for Kessel. Difficult without the Leafs eating some $$ though.

Thats going to be one heck of an offer sheet. They're going to have to go overkill to have a chance at prying him away. up in the 4 1sts area.

This day on the NHL calendar was typically thought as the time when the GMs could go dump a bunch of money playing the carnival games hoping to win the big plush stuffy. Now most GMs are wising up to the fact that this is more like a game of Russian roulette. You can seriously damage yourself playing the free agent game. Tread carefully.

If you're Nashville, you know you'll be picking outside the lottery. Would you offer sheet Tarasenko 9 mill per? Would cost you couple 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Not much for an elite scorer if you get him otherwise you seriously dent your divisional rival. Preds have the cap space.
