“@DarrenDreger: Nothing official yet, however, hearing expected for Byfuglien.”

just watched the burrows hit, and though i would hate to ill-will anyone, bieksa is a real ######. Guy goes down by a cheap shot and this clown skates by and trash talks him as he's being tended to. As a player who goes under the radar as a cheap shot artist himself, elbow flailing hitter and numerous post whistle cross checks, sure wouldn't be all that upset when he gets hit with a burrows type shot one of these days.

I agree. You could use that hit in the example blind side hit tutorial they have. The stupid part is he is a repeat offender this year.

Canucks have 0 class. Can't wait to see the riot in Vancouver after the upstart Flames dust them in Round 1.

What do you expect from Bieksa, the guy is a cheap shot artist and he's a bully and a coward. He prefers to go after players below his weight class, and his favorite thing to do is to jump players after the refs jump in.

Bieksa is a complete dirt bag, but he gets it honestly, he was mentered by Kesler and hangs out with Burrows.

NHL Player Safety @NHLPlayerSafety
Winnipeg's Dustin Byfuglien will have a hearing tomorrow for cross-checking NY Rangers forward J.T. Miller.

rest of regular season, I don't see how they can't do that. The optics of that cross check are incredibly bad.

Huge night for the Flames, they now hold their own fate against two teams, for the first time in a while. Awesome feeling, hopefully they take advantage.

I guess the threshold for suspensions has been upped for playoff-race teams. They didnt suspend Toffolli which was probably a worse hit. I guess Burrows is now a repeat offender but it would be wrong if they suspended him and not Toffoli.

Any suspension for Bieksa? Dude got a hitting to the head penalty earlier in the game that looked much worse than Burrows's to me (I didn't think the Burrows hit was that bad on watching it again).

Just goes to show though that if you're going to do something suspendable, do it on a night where someone else does something EGREGIOUSLY suspendable so that the DOPS is preoccupied!

I'm trying to find the Byfuglien cross check on J.T. Miller but can't seem to. At what time of the game did it occur?

Yikes. That is an ugly cross check. Vulnerable player. Big guy throws a cross check into the neck area. Not even just a run of the mill cross check either. He threw his whole body into that one.

I'm sorry, but that is ridiculous. Go and look at it again.

Miller swings wildly for the puck and hits Pavelec in the pads. Byfuglien ambushes him and pounds his head to the ice with his stick.

It was brutal. Yes, I'm sure Byfuglien was caught up in the heat of the moment and intensity within the game, but this was completely unwarranted retaliation and is beyond ANY excuse.
