The message from MacT today, everything will get better, nothing to see here, trust us we're not as bad as last year ... #Oilers
Life is great Flames fans. Life is great. This morning I woke up to see the final score and was just happy. Got to watch most of the presser at work and couldn't stop laughing. Wow, just wow.
I think the best thing to come from the presser is that he pretty much said that this is how the team will be run from here on out. They need more time to do exactly what they've been doing.....for 8 years....lose. I love it.

Not the coach's fault.
The core is developing.
The pro scouting is doing a better job bringing in players over the past year or two.
They have a story to tell.
Nikitin is an NHL player.
Will develop Leon where it's best for him. He will probably stay with big club.
He's only been on the job for 20 months.
Don't lump him in with previous management.
The Winnipeg game was a great game.
He's only been there 20 months.
Don't forget the most mind boggling statement.
The reason for optimism is there's "accountability growth".
Wtf is accountability growth? You have one big currency as a gm to hold players accountable. Sending then to the minors. Never used. You have one main currency as a coach to hold players accountable. Playing time. Never used.
So it's up to the players to hold themselves accountable? Ok
They're not going to make any deal until the deadline. He won't change the core. He won't trade draft picks (good choice).
Why would any Oiler fan go watch any games for the rest of the year? Serious question. Nothing will change anywhere until the deadline and then the summer, what's the point in spending any money to sit there and watch a bad team play hockey. Unless you're a fan of the visiting team?

Biggest loser of the presser besides Oiler fans were Sabres, Hurricanes and Blue Jacket fans, as Edmonton has clearly laid down the gauntlet: This amazingly crappy team is not making changes, and probably will quit even harder as the season goes on. Oh, and if you want to finish last, don't finish above 50 points because the Oilers won't be.

There hasn't been any reason to watch the Oilers for years actually. Well, other than for the hilarity of it all.
Did he say the word "pragmatic" at all? Disappointed if not....useless blabbering speakers must drop that bomb or they will most certainly fail at their multi level marketing scheme.
