Thanks Stryker and anduril for making a great day of raiding. Probably put in a good 12 hours on Saturday and managed to learn and execute most of the fights.
For those complaining about content, you can consider the raid almost its entire own game. First time players will easily put in 14-20 hours in there. The level of coordination is pretty intense and I see why Bungie did not intend to do it as a pick up group.
I plan to run a weekly raid once we get it down pat, so as CP guys get ready just add me on or send me a message.
Weekly raids are much tougher. You don't auto respawn after 30 seconds, your team mates have to pick you up. I'm a level 24 and ran it with a 25 and 22 and we found it tough. Definitely really fun and rewarding when you do beat it though.
k im just not going to respond to your #### anymore because i have better things to do like #### my model girlfriend rather then try to convince people like you of commonly held hockey knowledge.
Just a warning. There's a guy who sells exotic items for strange coins, and he also sells exotic engrams. I bought the for sure armor, but my buddy saved up.and bough the engram and when he decoded it he got a blue item. So it's not a sure thing.

Gravemist and I 2-manned the weekly raid, and the end boss encounter was actually fairly easy compared to the mid section where you're waiting for ghost to open up that door. We wiped 4 or 5 times there but didn't go down once at the end boss. Those damn yellow wizards though can frig right off, 3 of them hammering you at once is just ridiculous. I'm glad I spent the time to level up my bubble boy Titan, as I don't think it would have been possible to do it as a striker
Nice. Just hit level 20. Any advice on getting light armor? Just strike missions?

The problem is with motes of light that is the best spot to use them if you want to gear up. The other vendor has class items (20 each) / emblems (7 each)
Best feeling in this game ever was getting a blue armor engram while helping a buddy on a lower level (level 15, i'm 24) play through a spot he was having trouble with and when I had it decoded it turned into awesome level 20 purple light armor! I was fully expected green level 10 boots.
I love that the game doesn't penalize you for playing with lower lvl friends on stuff like that. I can still lvl my gear, earn Motes of Light, get legendary drops, unlock grimoire progress, etc.

I just realized that the 3 factions you can optionally support by wearing their marks will accept both vanguard and crucible tokens for their legendary gear. As someone who splits time pretty evenly between PvE/PvP (I try to do every bounty possible per day) this seems to be the best way to gear up

Just be aware of the specific gear they offer before you start putting in too much rep. Went with FWC and realized that I melee a lot more than I thought so unfortunately not much I can do about it in the short term as I'm working on my Vanguard.
PvE is probably the slowest way to get Legendary gear. Grab all the bounties, head into the crucible. By the time you get to rank 2 you'll have enough crucible marks for a couple pieces of gear. Getting Vanguard marks takes FOREVER and the quickest way together reputation (patrol missions) is kind of dull.

I melee a lot too, the problem is the melee skills don't really seem to have much of an effect (at least for titan). I hardly notice the damage bonus from the striker's storm fist, and the shield you get from the defender's melee skill is redundant when you upgrade the bubble to do the same thing. I find grenades and the special ability to have far more use both in PvE and PvP, so I'm definitely sticking with FWC
