We really can't go wrong here, I can't decide which one of the four I want more!

Don't think 4th to 2nd will cost us Baertschi unless it's a bigger trade. You're still getting a great player a #4 so the cost shouldn't be that steep.

Well that's not true. I would argue it's tough to tell what is and isn't a wrong pick is a more accurate statement. I know it sounds like semantics and maybe it is, but you most certainly can go wrong with a top 5 pick, it happens every year.

In fact it's almost guaranteed we'll look back on this draft in five years and like every other draft go "Haha oh man, remember when team X drafted player A at 4th? Bet they wish they could have a do-over now!".

I'm 100% cool with any of Leon, Sams or Ekblad. My one concern is them taking a winger at #4. Not that I dislike any of Ritchie, Dal Colle, Virtanen etc... just dont want a winger when there are 3 good centers available or Ekblad regardless of what other teams do

You can argue any of the top 4 could be the best player in the draft so there isn't any real value in trading assets to move up unless you truly covet one over the others. There is a silver lining for Flames management in that they will still get the ability to draft what could be the best overall player of the four when all is said and done and will be free of the criticism that would go to the three teams ahead of them that let that player slip through their fingers. Just think if the Flames get Bennett and he becomes the next Doug Gilmour and the German kid turns into Michal Handzus. We will be able to hold that over Oilers fans for a long time.

Not quite. If someone (Vancouver ) manages to move up to Florida's pick and Ekblad drops, Edmonton will take him over Draisaitl

The only thing I can see Flames trading up is if they decided to pick Aaron Ekblad, the only defenseman in the top 4; otherwise I am definitely sure they will keep the 4th pick and hope that the center that is going to be available for them is the one they really want. I don't think it is worth giving up a prospect to move up in this draft because any one of these 4 players can flip flop their draft position. My guess is Florida will pick Ekblad, Buffalo might go after Bennett, Coilers Draisaitl and Reinhart become available for the Flames.

Is everyone in the last 3 pages in an uproar cause I would perfer Ritchie...? Sorry..... well fear not, I am not a member of the Calgary Flames scouting staff! I said this before, but I honestly only know what I read and listen and see on youtube. My concern with Reinhart, which could very well not be true, is his ability to raise his game to the next level. So my fear is he becomes more like RNH, and have a Andrew Cassels career. Probably unfounded fear of coarse. Of coarse if we pick him, no problems with me cause scouts obviously know a lot more then me, its just pre-draft guessing that I perfer Ritchie. As important as top line centers are, power forwards are a rarer commodity in the NHL, especially those with a lethal shot. At any given time, there are maybe 2-3 of them in the NHL. Who knows, he could be Milan Lucic or Bobby Ryan or turn out to be Jason Weimer, I have no idea. I guess thats all part of the pre-draft guessing.
