Sharks have mailed this one in. Seems they are just wanting to move on to game 6. On that note Stalock should get the start in my opinion.

Nice fans you've got there SJ.... Team up 3-1 in the series yet they are booing them because of an off game.

I'm excited at the thought we might see a game 7 between these two teams.

Watching Dan Boyle cry like a little baby in his post game interview because a report asked if maybe they weren't prepared because they felt like have 3 shots at winning series. I get that reporters ask dumb questions sometimes, but this seems like Boyle being a little bitch.

I dont blame him...some questions simply dont deserve a proper response...and this was one of them. And FWIW, he was not "crying", he was allowing the reporter to withdraw the stupidness of the question and making a point in doing so.
All that stuff aside, SJ has to be starting to question themselves and with the potential for a key guy missing game 6, LA may just be inside their heads. It really is SJ being SJ when it comes to the playoffs...something unfathomable just 4 days ago.

That was a realistic question and a softball at that. It was a lack of class/respect to answer the way he did. Reporters all arising like that so the player can show he's a professional by disagreeing. Boyle was chanelling his inner Tortorella

What?
You seriously believe that a group of 20 men collectively agreed that "well we have 3 more cracks at this, so no big deal if we win or lose" (which was the insinuation of the question) is a "realistic" scenario?
No..its an idiotic question and Boyle was right in dealing with it the way he did and then actually answering that question.

I probably would have reacted in a similar fashion. He did nothing wrong in the way he was answering the questions or pushing them to the side. At least he was available post game to answer questions.
Anyone who has played sport at an elite level never plays to lose. No matter what anyone thinks. Idiotic question and good on him for sticking up for his team.

Same diff. He was crying about it like a little bitch and he made himself look like a dumb ass.

Pretty to easy to believe that 20 grown men didn't feel the same urgency they should have because they take for granted they will get beyond the Kings. Reporter was asking Boyle what he thought the mind set was of the team and if they prepare as well as they might have. Boyle's response suggests the report was right.

Who said anything about "collectively agreeing" to anything? They don't have to huddle in the dressing room and say "hey we have three cracks at this" in order to not play with the desperation required.
The fact they were shut out on home ice in an elimination game is pretty solid evidence that they didn't exactly put on their best performance. Questioning whether they might have been a little complacent (which would be perfectly normal) is not a crazy thing to ask.
They didn't show nearly the fight they did in the third period of game 4 when they were down by three. That was a killer instinct. They didn't have it last night.
Anyway, an even better post game performance was the press conference with Sutter. Look it up if you missed it.

He came across as a whiner and a baby. Pretty sure I saw tears. It's a legitimate question. Sharks have sat on the lead and to an outsider that's what it appeared like.

It was a stupid question, but Boyle's response was infantile. Just answer with "No, we didn't. Next question." Reporters often ask stupid questions. Boyle and every other NHL player knows this. His failure to handle it in a mature fashion reflects poorly on him.

I think press conferences would be awesome if players all took a 'Darryl Sutter How to Deal with the Media' course.

The reporter obviously knew when he asked the question that the answer was going to be no, he was just trying to pull a quote from Boyle to the effect of:
"No, you can never afford to be complacent in the playoffs, especially against a team like the Kings, they were playing desperate because they're on the brink of elimination and we have to find a way to match that."
I feel like I've heard that type of question and answer a million times. Boyle is obviously frustrated and came of looking like a jerk.

No, he wasn't. That type of question is asked every scrum, with the expected answer to be of course not. Every single scrum would end that way.
How many times have you heard these questions:
"Do you think the tiredness from playing last night hurt you guys?"
"Do you think the injury to one of the top players on the team will hurt your chances?"
Etc....
These are questions specifically designed to let the player give a good sound bite about being a professional. A softball
If Boyle doesn't want to answer very basic normal questions, play in the ECHL. He doesn't have the right to be a dick
