His like of Calgary is genuine and was clear when he sent took out space in the paper as GM of the Ducks to thank Calgary and the Flames in 2006 when the Ducks beat them.

That said, don't see this Feaster/Burke thing working. Burke told Millions at the end of June he wanted to be GM, and can't see him sitting on the sidelines too long.

Yeah but I was fearing that they'd make him President and General Manager. So I'll take some solice in that he'll at least in theory be an armslength away from the day-to-day transactions.

I seem to remember a story from Feaster about he and Burke's relationship. Started at Gm meetings when Feaster start at the big table, Burke whispered in his ear that sitting there was a bad idea (I think Feaster was an assist. GM at the time).


Can someone confirm if my memory is correct?

Good move by the Flames and brings a lot of experience and credibility in my opinion. I just don't see a plan or where Feaster is going with this team so it's good to have a good hockey guy like Brian Burke on board. Welcome Brian.

Oh, he's the GM alright. There is no way in hell Burke is going to leave Feaster et al to do their jobs. People bitched about King's alleged meddling. Burke will be a million times worse.
