^ Pieces of, possibly.
The piping I would think would be made to fit and not usable, but the tanks for holding ammonia and equipment to freeze it and pump it should be moved to another location provided the requirements of the pumps and tanks are the same as for the Dome.

Had an idea!

I'd also imagine that a new ice plant would be smaller and more efficient than what is currently in the Saddledome.

Some of the ice plant is event level, some below it.
Flames had a behind the scenes video that showed a good little tour of the plant and access to it: http://video.flames.nhl.com/videocen...sole?id=240958

The old ice plant had the ability to build ice for international dimensions. The new one wouldn't, so that would probably help in itself.

The ice plant is actually way bigger than I expected. Lot of work to replace all that.

Based on this, it looks like the seats in row 9 remained dry, row 8 was partially submerged, and rows 7 and lower were completely submerged.

All of that history & equipment destroyed. Really sad day for the city.

There appear to be hundreds of mini soccer balls floating in the water.

What is being done to the building on the upper left? Are they redoing the roof?

It's still under construction. Construction started after last year's Stampede, and it is scheduled to open in time for next year's.

it is a sad day but not because of the saddledome losing videos and memorabilia that don't mean squat in the grand scheme of things.
People losing their homes and possessions is what makes this a travesty.
Screw the saddledome and the stampede. The media and too many people are focusing on that instead of the tens of thousands of people directly effected by the flood.

Ken, it's the strangest thing, all of the music survived except for the disc that Cotton-Eyed Joe was on. It looks like it was smashed into a million pieces by a hammer.

Yes it sucks that people lost everything, but things like the stampede or getting the dome back up and running give people something to look forward to, give them inspiration. Seeing the stampede parade in 13 days after this devastation would be really uplifting in my opinion.

True. Just an all around bad weekend for the city. We'll rebuild and come back stronger for sure. Both the Flames and our great city.
