That tweet makes no sense. I wonder if they didn't get the roads reversed. The ramp from NB Deerfoot to westbound Glenmore is where I would expect the closure to be, because of Mazrim's picture.

City of Calgary @cityofcalgary1h Please be aware of the following closures: Ramp from westbound Glenmore to both north and southbound Deerfoot to be closed by rush hour.
Though there is a chance its not related to the flooding at all. Seems odd that it would be affected by it...you would think a whole lot more of flooding would have to occur for it to get to that point.
Edit: i guess they say it is weather related.
That ramp is frequently closed when there is rainfall.
Just took a walk around Pearce Estate Park and Harvie Passage. I've never seen the Bow that high. Full poplars are being shoved along the raging waters. We could be in for some extensive flooding once the Bow crests!
Of course, you had the obligatory fools kayaking in the river. I hope they don't expect emergency services to save their sorry asses instead of dealing with the unpreventable issues this city is about to endure.
Please share. I have freinds there and can't contact them.
Here are a few. (spoiler'd for size)
Spoiler!
Not sure where these two are exactly:
This is 12th by the rec plex looking west:
By the Baptist church:
8th ave by the gym:
Cell service is pretty ####e right now down there apparently, so if you can't contact them, I would try not to worry too much. Do you know what area they are in? The High River Facebook page has some decent info on it.
This is what I get for my first week of biking to work, 3 days of biking then the bike path floods - greeeat

My office looks out over the Centre Street bridge. When I got in at 7 this morning, the water was lapping up on the pathway on the north bank under the bridge, looked to be a few inches of water. The handrail along the bank was fully visible.
As of right now, the top of the handrail is totally underwater at the lowest point, and most of the rail in under for at least 20 feet on either side. I feel pretty confident stating the Bow is up at least 4 feet since yesterday.
Hope everyone stays safe.

Are there any estimates on how much higher this is going to rise?
Walking home into Sunnyside, I've never seen anything close to how high the river is right now. If it rises another 4 or 5 feet, it's going to start hitting the top of the berm in the area near the crosswalk at 7th street.
