They did a really good job with Monahan. It looks exactly like him. Even the hair is perfect.
...feathered and lethal.
I think the Gaudreau I created looks pretty good as well.

I normally get this on release day but I haven't even got to the demo yet this year. Maybe I will try and spend more time watching hockey than playing this year.

My personal opinion is that this is the first edition worth the $60 in several years now. It's not perfect, but it's really good.

Of course, since I made my defenseman 6-4 235 pounds with high speed and hitting ability, I seem to be alternatively killing people and fighting alot.

Just wondering if anyone knows when the latest Roster update went through? I don't have access to EA Sports from work or I would look it up. I don't really want to start my GM season until the rosters are pretty damn close to what they are like right now in the NHL.
Thanks in advance!

It's always middle/later in October. They cannot put (some) rookies in the game until they have played 1 regular season game.

The general rule is that the roster update won't be out until the real world rosters are more or less set. In other words, they need to wait until guys either play an NHL game or get assigned to an AHL or junior team.
So, yeah, probably late next week.

Anyone use any 3rd party rosters this year for Be A GM? Where rookies have been created and some re-evaluated stats have been made?

So the last version I bought was NHL11 and the AI was horrible. Is it worth the $60 to upgrade to this game?

u missed nhl 12, which was a pretty crappy iteration.
This one is worth getting in my opinion, so far the gameplay has been fun. can't comment on be a gm, as i await the roster update before starting it.
I only play some online HUT, though it will soon become unbearable due to people mastering hitting, and dangling/dancing using the dekes to avoid being hit (i suck at avoid being hit, and hitting in general), so though i've gotten upto div5 or 6, i think i'll have to stop playing soon or end up throwing my controller across the room.

The AI can only go so far in this generation of gaming. And while I still find some things frustrating, I would say that it is much improved from 11. Also, the physics and controls of the game help hide some of the AI flaws as the game can be just so damn fun to play.
Although I have some beefs with the game (auto-fights are a bit annoying), I think its the best version they have put out in quite some time.

yikes, sounds like there is some pretty big bugs in be a gm with regards to player progression, where prospects potential suddenly drops, and leaves many teams with no highly rated rosters......
just saw it on the NHL 14 EA forum....

In Be a Pro, when do you start doing media interviews in stuff, does that only happen at the NHL level.
I really want to blast some of my team mates for sucking.

I was interviewed during the Memorial Cup tournament and then again right before the draft. I chose the "begin at the draft" route.
