The only reason they make them that way now is so they can release 2-3 new models during their lifespan so they can sucker us into rebuying consoles again as time goes by. That's the real reason why they design them this way, rather than introducing the best looking models right off the bat. They probably already have designs fur future versions already prepared, but for now they are sticking up with these two fat/mediocre looking consoles.

Honestly, if MS closed off those ugly vents, it would look a thousand times better. I understand it's function, and who knows, maybe the PS4 will have heating issues. But I just hate those vents. For some reason, every time I see the Xbox One, I think of Trans Ams and acid wash jeans.

Sony is really pushing the whole indie dev/self publishing angle. Microsoft mentioned "indie" but only showed Minecraft.

Every game I have seen today look like current gen graphics. The Battlefield 4 stuff looked "next gen", but that was running on a high-end PC.

Not surprising since it was built for the PS3 originally. Lets hope the revamp it, but I'm a Final Fantasy fanboy, so I'll still eat it up like the sucker I am.
