Tough loss but Edmonton was the better team in the series. Had the Hitmen won this series, it would have been a massive upset as Edmonton was expected to go to the finals. Hitmen are in very good shape for next year.

Nice to see the Hitmen taking it to 7 games. If the Oil Kings do win the league title they'll have the Hitmen to thank for that.

I think the third time's going to be the charm for the Winterhawks this year. Brossoit is going to need to put in another MVP performance for an Oil Kings repeat.

Sucks to see Edmonton win but great to see the Hitmen lose.

I think Portland wins this series easily with a much better team and the added rest.

Portland in 5.

Portland in 6. The loss of Reinhart will hurt the OKs a lot. He's their best blue liner, although they have great depth on the back end. I was impressed with how the Kings shut down the Hitmen for half the game starting half way through the first period. The OKs can still win this series. I remember when they played the Bobby Orr - yes, I'm that old - Oshawa Generals to take the Memorial Cup.

Brossoit is going to have to find his round 1 and round 2 form to beat the Winterhawks.

His GAA went up by over half a goal in the Calgary series, despite 2 shutouts, and Portland has far more offensively gifted players than the Hitmen.

This is going to be the first WHL title rematch since New Westminster Bruins vs. Saskatoon Blades in 1975 and 1976.

Jaeger White dropping all the way to the 4th round of the Bantam Draft today is really shocking. That kid has elite offense ability. I'm going to say it now he very well could be the steal of the draft by Lethbridge.

Really pads his stats vs the weaker teams (read on WEHP? he had like a 15pt game or something like that this year). He was a non factor in the AB Cup last week end. Hopefully for the Canes he can score at higher levels, but he really dropped from a projected top 10 pick this time last year to the 4th round.

Missed this when it happened, but the Washington Capitals are forcing the Lethbridge Hurricanes to change their logo. Massive dick move by the Caps, but at the same time, a good thing for the Hurricanes since Washington's logo is terrible, and a rip off of it is even worse.

As one anonymous scout told the Medicine Hat News he felt White dropped for two reasons, his effort isn't always there and rumors of him going the NCAA route instead of the WHL route also.

Those jerseys with the Hawker Hurricane on them are really slick though, they should just use those.

Edmonton takes game 1. Brossoit kept Edmonton in the game and they slowly got themselves going. The only huge advantage Edmonton has is in net and it really showed last night.

And as expected, Portland wins the championship in 6 games. The best team in the dub won.

Fun season... deserving team won it all.

Should be fun to watch the memorial cup and see Seth Jones go up against MacKinnon and Drouin, bet fans of teams with top 3 picks this year are going to really enjoy it. Kind of a shame that Saskatoon got a free ride, totally undeserving this year but they'll be cannon fodder anyway.

So, I didn't see the game tonight, but how did Brossoit play? Was it a collapse or a total team thing?

I was there. LB played well. He stopped a couple of breakaways when they had to open it up, including one that would have been Rattie's fourth. LB wasn't the reason they lost. Portland is flat out better.

Agreed, but that 3rd goal really seemed to deflate the Oil Kings and it was pretty soft.

Sure, but the thing that really deflated the Kings were those two shorties early in the game. Without those, I think we might be going to a seventh game.
