Your friend has to get whitelisted by Rathji, but other than that, I think we'll take who we can get. I'll be on at 7 and we'll see who shows up and what we want to do at that point I suppose.

As for map, I won't have time to change anything beyond what is there right now.
I might be on, but family in from our of town so I have no idea when I will be free.
Remember, don't update to 1.3 I'd you want to log on, as the server doesn't support it. If you already did, then there are guides online to revert, just be cautious of where you get the jar from.
In case anyone has forgotten. Server address is minecraft.tnlonline.ca. Test your access before start time.

Well, I was trying to get an Minecraft-inexperienced friend of mine to play, especially if we were doing 2 person teams or something, but he accidentally updated his game to 1.3, so he's out.

You can revert it, just send him your 1.2.5 /bin folder (or likely just the minecraft.jar file) in your minecraft folder and have him replace his with yours.
All people added to whitelist, but I will not be playing since I have the family stuff to attend to still.

Regarding teams tonight is too short notice to set that up. It would be impossible without ability to voice chat. Next time perhaps?

Well, if we do 2 person teams, each team could just set up their own, which could be as easy as skype or even a phone call.

Thanks Mitch. Was your character Rolen? If you got close enough to use that sword it might have been a much different outcome.
I missed Rolen putting down Nacho, so I didn't realize I'd won for a full five minutes. I'm really bad at reading the chat messages!
GG everyone. Let me know if there's videos and I'll add them to the CPUHC video link thread.

Funny thing was I didn't realize I won until 5 minutes later. I missed Rolen taking out Nacho

Yeah, I was Rolen. At first I thought you were a skeleton or something because my screen was all foggy. When I was at half a heart I just did my hail mary and tried rushing you with my sword. Fun game anyways, my first time playing Ultra Hardcore. Look forward to doing it again!
Who is uploading vids? I look forward to seeing other peoples perspectives.

I will be for sure, Dodger said he was going to record as well. We were mimicking the MindCrack ultra hardcore series by producing 30-minute serial episodes, but I don't think there's much point in that until we each get a few thousand Youtube subscribers (not gonna happen). So this time I'm just going to edit the boring crap out, cut it into reasonable chunks for convenience and be done with it.
A while ago I started this thread to collect the videos together...

Awesome, I'll make sure to check them out. And so you're just going to make a single video with all the important parts? Next time I'll try vidding as well, just got to download some videoing software.

I'll see how long the final video is, then decide on chopping it up later.
I found out about a program called MSI Afterburner, which primarily is used for monitoring and/or overclocking video cards but also has the built-in ability to record game video and audio. It's not specific to just MSI cards either - it works for vid cards from any manufacturer and either NVidea or ATI chipsets.
During the game I didn't have very much lag at all, which is a common complaint for Fraps. The downside of MSI Afterburner is it doesn't record a single window but the entire desktop. It also won't record Minecraft if it's run in full-screen mode. I can't remember the reason why - either it was something to do with not working with native 64-bit applications (my java install is 64-bit) or only working with Direct3d and/or OpenG/L. Whatever, when I tried it I got all the audio but just black screen for video. As a result I maximized my Minecraft window to 1920 x 1080, and in the video the only bit of my desktop you see is the taskbar and Minecraft window frame.
On my previous WinXP computer I used a program called Gregion 3.1 Again it's a free download but there's not the support community you get with better-known programs. I found it worked okay and was light on resources (didn't cause lag, etc), but was buggy in some areas. I had to start Gregion before Minecraft (or was it the other way around?) before it would record properly. Once I figured out the process it worked fine.
No matter which program I've tried, here is the most important thing I've learned: work backwards! First find out what YouTube wants for file formats, size, quality, and Second look at what video editing software can produce what YouTube wants (I use Windows Live Movie Maker), and then Third set up your video capture software to produce what the video editing software can work with.
Sorry about the novel, but I hope this helps you out.
EDIT: Just found out while reviewing the video that all audio dropped out after 20 minutes. Sux! I'll have to do more testing with MSI Afterburner to see if this is a consistent problem, I guess.
