Yup. The Flames site still has him listed as 5'6" 141 lbs, but the Boston College roster has him at 5'8" 153 lbs.

That would be awesome and I don't necessarily not believe it, but it's not uncommon to pad someone's physical attributes in sports.
But hey, awesome if true.

Gaudreau has the benefit of quick speed and low center of gravity, who cares how many pounds of mass he has. I think in the "new" NHL his size won't matter (forgive the pun) anyways.

Over a year I would think. I think the 5'6 size they have listed was his draft size no? Two inches and 20ish pounds isn't completely unfeasable... I wouldn't expect much more from him in terms of height.

Does anyone else think Gaudreau is somewhat comparable to Steve Sullivan, moreso than a comparable to St. Louis?
I say that because Sullivan is fast, a 20-30 goal scorer, a decent assist guy, and is able to fend off defenders through agility more than physicality.
If Gaudreau can do what Sullivan has done in his career, the Flames have a great player.

That seems to make more sense than St. Louis who I think is not comparable to anyone based on the craziness of his career path.

St. Louis is also a bulky little guy. Short but put on some pounds by the time he got to Tampa, weighs in around 180.

Also, by all indications, Gaudreau is equally a goal scorer as he is a playmaker, so St. Louis doesn't work as a comparable in that sense.

St. Louis has had 6 seasons of 30+ goals, and one 40+ goal seasons. He's a top notch goal scorer.

I really like the Steve Sullivan comparison, and when all is said and done, Gaudreau will probably be the same size as well - 5'9'', ~160lbs
If Gaudreau were to become the second coming of Sullivan he would be the most successful Flames forward prospect in the past twenty years

I agree. But I think what has me—and I perceive a number of other posters—so excited about Gaudreau is that his skill-set seems to have a considerably higher ceiling than Sullivan's. His hockey sense and on-ice vision are both especially good.

You're right, but I just mean he's more heavily weighted in his playmaking ability than his goal scoring.

I just wished the Flames could have kept St. Louis and Savard then we would have had an elite top line during Iggy's prime. Oh well here is hoping that Gaudreau-Jankowski-Baertschi will be our future elite top line.

I agree. Iginla and St. Louis would have been awesome together and Savard would have not gotten concussed by Cooke and he'd still be playing right now. The cup would have been ours in 04. Oh well.
