CP also made the Olympics even more special thanks to the Opening Ceremony Thread and Hot Olympians thread. I joined because of those threads, haha.

I guess overall CP has made me much smarter when it comes to everything hockey, which I'm thankful for.

that opening ceremony thread is one of the all time greats. Vancouver fail is so much fun.

I wouldn't say that I have had any specific benefits other than being entertained and getting to know (sort of) some pretty cool people and some decent advice.

I have learned a lot from some of the people here and for sure I think it has influenced my perspectives on some things in positive ways.

CP has given me the opportunity to be a paid sponsor which in turn has already led to a listing and several others inquiring.
CP always has me up to date on hockey news. My friends wonder where some of the stuff i say comes from lol.
The knowledge I have gained is priceless.

Thank You CP

I have learned that the number of words I write has a direct relationship to the number of thanks I get.

This post has too many words and I won't get thanked but when I wrote "Because Calgary is awesome" I got something like 20 thanks.

You guys are weird.

Funny story about that video.

For a while it was kind of the holy grail among fight tape traders because it wasn't aired on any TV networks.

Eventually I contacted the Flames to ask if they had a copy I could have and they sent me the jumbotron recording of the entire brawl.

I made a few copies of the tape and sent them out on a community to various traders, and a uploaded a video of the entire brawl... though I figure I should try and find that tape and upload a better quality version sometime.

Awesome if you could upload a better quality version. Every Flames fan new and old need to watch it.

That night i went home and of couse since it wasn't televised there was no highlights. The NHL network recently added their radio links to their site. You could replay the entire radio call of the game. So i still have Peter Maher's call of it on minidisc! haha. I don't think i have a minidisc player anymore though.

Hmmm come to think of it that was probably the last good thing Lowry did for the Flames franchise. He shot the puck out with 30 seconds left so Berube could get out of the penalty box and destroy more ducks. Now please leave and give us a real pp coach!

This list could get long, so just some highlights...

Found a good financial planner for my daughters RESPs,
who referred me to the real estate agent I used to buy my house.
Found the lawyer who did my house stuff.
Funny Pictures, Random Thoughts and Confessions Threads, and links to almost everything worth seeing on the internet.
It is my primary source of all new phone and tech info from Apple to Android.
The amount of deals that I get wind of here is amazing
Monoprice.com!!!!!
Bought quite a few things from buy and sell, got rid of a bunch of my old stuff the same way.
Increased my hockey knowledge 10 fold, especially out of market stuff that I wouldn't have paid attention to before.

In general, is a good source of information from pretty much every aspect of life. If you want advice about something from digging a ditch to ditching your wife, you can probably ask in Off-Topic or Tech Talk and get quite a few good opinions.

Wowzers......interesting topic.

Single biggest benefit would have to be playing some street hockey this summer. Couldn't make it very often (and wasn't very good when I did), but it totally rekindled that childhood passion. I find myself playing pick-up at community rinks constantly now.

Oh - and Calgary Deals Blog. Love that site.

how has cp benefited me.... wow.....

endless hours of laughter - funny & cool pic thread is pure gold.... not to mention most of 4x4's posts
a desire to know what 'fotze mom' actually looks like
biz exposure resulting in work
'meet' people who love the flames (there are flames fans in kelowna, but not tons)
broadened my exposure to 'stuff'... my wife is always asking me... how did you hear of 'that'??
hours an hours of entertainment!

CP has done two important things for me. The first was the Game Takes. That was really, really important to me when I was away for awhile. The second thing is the general opening of my mind. Yeah, I'm still pretty opinionated, but TBQH, there have been a lot of topics, and a lot of posts that made me reconsider my stance. I dare say that I've fully changed my mind on more than one topic, thanks to some well thought out and well written posts on this site.

Merry xmas CP.

Haha, what happened again?

Were you injured in one of the games early on?

BTW, I agree with everyone talking about the summer ball hockey. I had a blast and was really happy to meet everyone. I'm looking forward to this upcoming summer for more!
