Now that you mention the entry draft - will the expansion teams have picks in this year's draft?

Well have to see how it breaks down Mango....We'll let the competition commitee determine that.

Oh, don't worry I'm filling my relocation papers as we speak!!!! As soon as I seen Jets That was my first thought.

Actually I would love to be able to relocate back, but it's not worth the can of worms it could open.... but I would love it.

As for bringing back the dead horses to play, wait and see (rules, rough outline), and also maybe the GM's job can be opened to our fellow GM's first before outsiders. I'm sure there's a few here that would love an expansion challenge.

PS, I am serious about the relocation.

Hmmm....interesting for sure. Mathieson has some ideas about how expansion should be implemented. He'll be posting an artical on the potential expansion tommorrow. I'm willing to help out too with rules etc... if you want it that is. I'm still disappointed that theres no Murdoch award though...

Why dont you like the idea?

We are looking for all comments...yours is the first negative one right off the hop. Just curious as to what it is that has you leaning towards not liking the concept?

I am just curious if there will be a waiver draft as well as an expansion draft? Could be hard on some teams if there is both depending on teh rules surrounding each. However I like the idea of expansion teams and am intrested to see how it turns out.

As tranny pointed out, the player movement from each individual team will probably be pretty low. An expansion draft could be a great way for some teams to shed some salary. Weaker teams wouldnt have to worry anyway. Losing the 13th forward on your team probably isnt going to hurt too much.

And Goffie, the waiver draft is generally a joke anyway. Player movement is minimal.

I think this is a great idea and keeps us on the cutting edge in the FHL world.

As always, if there is any help needed I am available.

To be honest im not really sure why, was just my first impression. To me it just seems like it will mean two more mediocre teams when there is already a limited spread of talent in the league. I guess it all comes down to the nuts and bolts of what happens. Plus i like things as close to reality (rosters aside) as possible but the league is so well run im certainly going to stick around to see how it pans out.

From what I understand our SIM is programmed such that we run two divisions in each conference. By adding expansion teams would we be able to run 8 divisions of 4 teams? That way we could align divisions like

Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnepeg
Anaheim, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Jose
Colorado, Dallas, Nashville, St.Louis
Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Minnesota

Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec, Toronto
New York R, New York I, Boston, Buffalo
Pittsburgh, Philly, New Jersey, Washington
Atlanta, Carolina, Florida, Tampa Bay

Mind you having 4 divisions of 8 teams wouldn't be that much different I guess. Still the idea of two all Canadian Divisions would be kind of cool.
