I didn't find 10 albums I enjoyed enough to put on the list. This is all I got, in no particular order:

LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening
Liars - Sisterworld
Arcade Fire - Suburbs
The National - High Violet

Ignoble Mention: The third Interpol album left me queasy, and their 4th release this year confirmed that they're done.

Here's hoping 2011 brings more from The Knife and Radiohead. The withdrawal is getting hard to manage.

Got a good listen to the new Kanye album tonight. I haven't been a huge fan of the person but I definitely know he is talented and he makes really good music. Won't be surprised when we see this as album of the year.

I'm usually happy to see bands I love become successful, but they've become such huge divas since hitting it big, that they're now dead to me. I won't even bother listening to their new one.

Wow, Jason and the Scorchers have new music. I have some of their stuff on vinyl. I'm going to hunt that down. Thanks.

IMO their new album was okay. Some good songs but for the most part the album was pretty uninspiring.

The National's High Violet is top of the list for me, I love that album. Although I haven't heard that much new music this year.

You know, I could never really put my finger on it but I really didn't enjoy Contra. Maybe I'm one of those people that pines for what a bad did on their previous record, so this one didn't work for me. I loved their first record, though. Maybe it's "horchata" and the fact that they named a song after a beverage I've never tasted. One can never be certain.

Ha, pretty cool to see that. We've seen them several times over the past couple years and met them a couple times. Went to an unofficial gig of theirs on Halloween last year that was basically in a warehouse in the East End that a bunch of people were living in. Saw them again a few weeks ago for their first official sold out headline show in London. Their album is very good if you like electro and they are great live. Glad to see they are getting their name out and finding success.

For me, my top album of the year is Arcade Fire. Went to the concert last night at the O2 and they were great as they always are live. Love The Suburbs.

Another of my favourite albums this year is Broken Social Scene's Forgiveness Rock Record. Some excellent tracks on that one.

Makes me think of the lyrics to "Afraid of Everyone".

"But I don't have the drugs to sort, I don't have the drugs to sort it out, sort it out".

I read that Matt Berninger wrote this song about being a new father. The sound is somewhat different and sounds at times like the Crash Test Dummies. Maybe that is why so many people hate them?

People don't like the National because they are terribly awkward and Berninger's lyrics seem at first blush to be pathetic. But he wins you over with an odd, unrelenting conviction in everything he writes.
